Bottle thanks to Mar. Pours a dark brown with red hues, nice tan head. Aroma of nice dark fruit, some light dark roast. Flavor is very tasty, dark roast, a little dark fruit, a nice bitterness. Mouth feel is medium body with low-medium carbonation. Overall, pretty tasty stuff!

Bottle marked 9/25/2008 thanks to mar. Pours with brown tan head over a deep amber-brown body. Aroma of hops, maple, bitterness, and molasses. Taste is a syrupy mess in my opinion. Very sweet and syrupy up front with a completely disconnected and harsh bitterness that finishes up the flavor and lingers. Syrupy mouthfeel.

Bottle courtesy of mar. Dark red pour. Welcome warm aged woody taste. Fantastic feeling. Taste is aged beyond belief and feels more like a woody beer than anything. Well done and leaves the feeling of a double that isn’t present at the start.

2008 Bottle - I’d love to know what marketing genius decided to dip a fucking swingtop into Mil-Std wax...anyways, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a large tan head...aroma is gorgeous, roasty sugar, rough grain, floral hops, cocoa and sticky malt...flavour is similarly dark, astringently burnt sugar, mild alcohol, dry malt, coffee and more char bittness...at cellar temp, its a but rough cut without some more sweet malt to balance, but enojyable none the less...

Pours a dark reddish brown with a tall tan head. Slightly alcoholic aroma with earthy hops and roasted malt. Flavor is quite hoppy with sweet malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. Overall, this is a bit too bitter for me - it could be more well balanced.

When I smelled this beer I was kind of expecting a double IPA, but this really is an ESB with the volume turned up to eleven. Turbinado sugar aroma, big earthy hop presence, slight hints of metal. Quite Nice.

Big Bottle. Aroma roasty coco, coffee and some molasas in third pint. Chocolate milk colored head with some good lacing. Was little bit of a gusher opening the fliptop. Good lacing more on last glass. Crabinated brew with coffe roast the some chcocolate and some caramel thick molasas. Bready notes along with a mild shugar in the mix. Dry coco and coffee bean palate. Good brew intriging from start to finish.

Sam Kinison said it best. Oh, Ohhhhhh! This brew rocks, or is it coffee? Dark amber in color with a thick head that just sits there like a lead pancake floating on my beer. Strong aromas of bitter cocoa, roasted coffee bean, and a bit of brown cake bread with some pine resin. Full nectar with superb carbonation. This beer is not thick and gooey like most full bodied beers. It still has a bit of pliability to it. It goes down easy yet is quite creamy on the tounge. Flavors of roasted coffee bean and bitter cocoa speak to me in tongues while this superior hop component slaps my face forward. This brew is not sweet at all. Rather a dry specimen that drinks like black coffee. The finish is bittered with an ingenious use of hops that keep the user coming back for more. Excellent brew guys.

Some hops and some caramel in the aroma. Wow does this have some intense flavor. Peaty, a bit smoky, quite a lot of malt. A flavorful sipping beer, this is easily the thickest richest beer I’ve ever had at this low of an alcohol content! Crazy thickness.
