3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle into snifter, pours a murky brown and quickly dissipating head. This one was dated Aug 6, 2012. Quite a complex smelling and tasting brew, however it remains smooth and balanced. I agree with previous comments about the 7.5% seeming lower than it really is. Itís not boozy mind you, just strong...quite strong. Iím glad Iíve got a large bottle in front of me. This may very well be my first DESB.

Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aroma of malty, and some other hints, maybe fruit, maybe coffee. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and roasty as hell.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle during RBWG. Pours a cloudy copper with small beige head. The aroma is roasted malt and toffee. Medium mouth sweet malt, tea, and caramel, good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep orangey brown with a huge tight copper head that stuck around for a LONG time. Killer retention. Citrusy hops and bready malts in the nose. Bitter piney hops, orange, and roasted malts. Also a certain dark fruity sweetness. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. While the hoppiness is the most pronounced flavor, everythingís balanced well. The hoppy bitterness, the light sweetness and the roasted character all play together nicely.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
liked this one as well, just a touch darker and more robust than the normal Bitch Creek. Maybe a little less balanced, but it was unique.

On Tap at the Rover Room, Whole Foods, Boise Dark borwn with just a slight trace of a light tan head. Lots of big soft light roast malty notes. A little astringent in the trailer, and was expecting it to be a little bigger. Still an nice sipper.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Really really good beer. Complex aromas and flavors of caramel, grains, nuts, coffee, tropical fruit and spices. Medium bodied with a decently bitter finish. Pours a burnt amber color with a big frothy khaki head. This is the best beer Iíve had from Grand Teton.

12/26/10 - bottled 2009.
$15 for one liter bottle @ Enoteca in Post Falls, ID.
Poured to tulip.
A: Pours a brown, deep, chestnut color with 1 finger of latte head which dissipates quickly - not unusual for a beer of age and ABV. The head can be reinstated with a quick agitation stir. Little to no lacing.
S: Great nose! Molasses, brown sugar, chocolate malt, sweet mocha dance about with a hint of herbal hops and just a faint whiff of licorice. Could smell this for hours. Gorgeous.
T: Nuts, bitterness, anise; a nice full oatey flavor with backgrounds nuances of coffee adding to the enjoyment of this one.
M: Medium bodied with low carb feel allows good appreciation of aromas and palate interpretations. Well thought out.
D: Great beer. For $15/liter, canít go wrong. Could drink this all night long. Of their reserve series, however, I would argue the Double Vision Doppelbock gives this one a run for its money and is actually my favorite of the limited series.
