Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest 07. Gold with bubbly white head. The strong honey flavour shone through the cold temperature of the beer, sweet and silky. Some roasted malt too even though the body is light.

Attractive gold colour. The honey (what else for the Bees’ centenary) is noticeable but not intruusive, although it does become a bit sweet after a while. There’s some flowery hop character and a bit of pale malt to provide ballance. A well-tempered and easygoing beer. Cask (gravity dispense), Ealing Beer Festival 2005.

Hazy gold in colour. Sweet honey flavour, very fruity. Some hoppy notes, interesting but honey is over powering.

Cask@The Wenlock Arms, London. Good to see a beer being brewed for the closest football club to where i’m living. Good idea to commemorate this big occassion for the Brentford Bees, with a honey ale! Unfortunately honey ales have never been my thing, so thats why i don’t score this one so well. This beer is technically very good, but its just the honeyed sweetness that ruins in for me. Its not cloying in any way, but there is just enough sticky sweetness to put me off, that and the fact i don’t like honey that much, finishes on the dry side, which was good. A nice, well made beer, just not too my taste.

Brewed, I think the label tells me, to commemorate 100 years of the Brentford Football Club in West London. Had this in a pub in the basement of the Brentford F.C. stadium, on one of their jazz fundraiser nights. Sweet and lots of character. I liked it, and it went well with the music. Honey is resplendant.
