Typically non-threatening Ontario example of the style. Problem is, I like threatening.

An English IPA, with the English bitter aroma and flavor. Limited malt presence -- so-so at best.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lubiere (7001) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2004
Smells of DMS, butterscotchy nose. Malty and some hops, but with a metallic post taste which is unpleasant.

On tap at Ginger’s Tavern. Hazy pale golden beer with a thick, creamy off-white head. Aroma is both earthy and fruity. Cherry esters and a strong earthy Fuggles aroma remind me of the Peculiar, but a bit more assertive. A touch of resinous flavour as in the bitter. Body is decent but could be bumped up a bit. Lingering sweetish malt and mushroomy hops. Nice bitterness, but balanced. I loved the first two beers here, but right now I’m dying for a taste of Cascades/Amarillo/Chinook so this isn’t quite cutting it.

Sampled from a growler: Pours a hazy pale golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Aroma of semi-sweet pale malt with a touch of grapefruity hops and grass. Body starts semi-sweet and pale malty with a mild resiny hop bitterness and a crisp, but thinner finish. A pretty drinkable IPA, but nothing that great.

Hops stuck in the metallic kettle...Cereal relaxing with some chalk...A lingering dry bitterness tries to save the day but simply can't overthrow the above unpleasantness...
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Sammy (6129) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 3, 2004
Light yellow color in water. A bit of hops and small head. Citrus trace. Not what you expect from an IPA but drinkable. Light likely owing to water. Unoffensive with food but rather dull
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 10, 2008
Objectively speaking:
Cask-served dry-hopped ale with little bitterness for an IPA.
I like:
Pleasant floral aromatics. Tea-like nuances. Confident pale malts which offer decent cerealic support.
I dislike:
The taste does not keep up with the dry-hopping promises. Really thin in mouth, causing a certain leafy astringency.
