Golden-copper w/ slight haze. Creamy off-white head w/ excellent lacing. Peppery, minty hops nose w/ some citrus in the back ground. Medium body w/ a light stickiness & little carbonation. Sweet, fruity malt flavour giving way to a long, developing, bitter finish. Also some metallic and sappy, piny notes.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2009 Cask at the Victory Cafe - arrived on my table with a nice white one-finger head and was hazy and lazy in appearance. Easy. The aroma was strangely, but enticingly, of fresh field strawberries, and that was nice. Flavour fairly mild - some light fruit hopping and a nice balance of malt. Nice delicate natural carbonation. It’s easy to drink and unchallenging. Not a bad thing at all - if this beer was an Archie comic, this beer would be Betty. That’s nice. Update - on cask at Volo - came looking virtually liked raw honey, completely opaque and shimmering gold. Bursting forth with fresh fruity aromas and a lovely delicate, balanced flavour. Not sure if the recipe’s been tweaked, or this sample is just superbly fresh, but whatever it is, I like it!

Cask @ brewpub, Toronto. Slightly hazy peach-toned golden frothy head, scattered lacing. Floral hops. Yeasty and fruity aromas. Friendly cask mouthfeel. Sweet entry, rounding to a complex earthy middle and a lingering delightfully earthy hoppy bitter finish. Yum.

Cask on tap at Bar Volo, recommended by Julian. Ochre colour, slightly cloudy with light tan foamy head and good lacing. Nice hoppy aroma. Very nice hoppy sweet flavour with slight bitter. Nice lingering aftertaste.

Golden coloured. Medium bodied, medium sweet. Flowery aroma, bitter and IMO well balanced.

Of the 3 ales I had at the Granite last week, this one, unfortunately, ranks lower. However, that means little as this is still a decent exploration of the IPA style. The gold colour surprised me...much lighter than the dry-hopped bitter. The aroma was certainly flowery with the notes of citrus. The flavour was a surprising sweetness that was fruity and then the hops asserted themselves. Overall, a nice IPA.

Very good. A little bit of biterness that you expect from an IPA. Nice golden colour. Finished very nice. Recommended.

Golden-orange colour. Citrus & cider notes in the flavour, with a moderate hop bite. Could use more "oomph!", but it's not bad.
