Draught pint at the brewpub. Nice chestnut-red colour with a thin tan head. Malt forward aroma with toasted grain and a bit of smoke. Flavour is sweet and fruity off the top - almost too much so - before balancing out a bit in the middle, and finishing fairly short with a quick, light bitterness. Not bad.

Aroma aromatic, slight fruity hints, pear and rose.
Appearance slight haze on amber-brown , rocky mid light top. 3+
Flavor and Palate : Frontal smoky elements. Strong phenolic approach, woody, pit, cherry wood. Mild and smooth at finish. Different than expected.

Very mild, at Bar Volo. Thinnish mouthfeel. So-so drinkability. Disapointing.

[3965-20110917] Tap. Light caramel malt grain aroma. Slightly hazy, dark amber brown body with a quick bubbly off-white head. Smoky caramel toffee grain continues in the flavour. Medium body is flat but hints at bitterness. Good balance, would like to see just a bit more hops but is a great start. (6/3-/7/3/14) 3.3

Cask at brewpub, Toronto. Pours a clear orange-copper with a small lasting bubbly off-white head. Aroma is quite sweet along with caramel malt, fruit and sugar -- no hops to speak of. Watery flavour of fruit, caramel malt and very light hops. Average bodied. Easy to drink, can down it no problem but not something I’d order a second pint of.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2011 2011-09-18. Crisp red brown body small frothy than head. 3+ Mild aroma of malt, bit sweet, ligtly nutty and earthy. 6+ Flavour is similar, mild malt, lightly muted, mild earthy/English malt character. 6+ Average palate, lightly carbonated. Pretty mild overall but quite pleasant. A lovely session pint, I could happily drink a bunch of these, but it would be more to my tastes with a little more oomph all around. On cask at Granite, Toronto

They were soliciting name ideas. In keeping with the "Landlord’s Daughter" theme we thought Mistress Mild, Mailman’s Daughter Mild, and Red Headed Step Mild were cheeky good fun.
