3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Mullo (102) - Brisbane, - AUG 25, 2005
Great robust appearance. Red brown in colour. A great looking pump poured rocky frothy head. Full bodied and flavoured. Lots of depth and complexity. Yeastiness, frutiness, lots of malt (roasted, toasted, nutty, coffee), and good floral and citrus hopping. Tasted really fresh.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 HeistAlmighty (545) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - NOV 20, 2011
Draft sample at Henry House. Brown/amber colour, little head that is gone quickly. Light, malty aroma. Unique malty taste with a light bitterness. Body was just a touch thin, no carbonation, dry finish. Overall, one of the better Granite brews.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 solidfunk (662) - Ontario, CANADA - SEP 16, 2011
A lot of stuff going on in this beer. Has a touch of caramel, good colour. A beer worth drinking a few times to get to know it better - complex. ON tap at Toronto
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rejtable (488) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2011
This has long been one of my favorite beers. I almost make the annual pilgramage to the east coast just to have this beer! Aromas of dark fruit, plums, with a nice dry feel in the mouth.

On tap @ The Henry House in Halifax, enjoyed as part of a tasting tray. Dark brown, minimal head. Lovely fudgey aroma, dark caramel. Medium bodied, sweetish, lightly bitter finish. Good stuff.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 FlashParker (85) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 26, 2011
On tap, Granite Brewery, Toronto.
Mahogany colour, nice head. Very nice nose; caramel, malty, some fruit - raisins, I think. I get a lot of biscuit with the taste. Hoppy on the back end, very interesting. I like the aftertaste - it lingers. Certainly the most interesting of the Granite Brewery Beers, one of their best. I like that another reviewer said it tastes like Autumn; I agree!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rederic (2326) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 2, 2010
On tap at the Toronto location, reddish-brown color, with a beige head, toasted, caramel malt, fruity nose of sultana raisins, with some light buttery nuttiness accents, and faint grainy cereal note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, toasted, biscuity, roasted malt character with a light raisiny, figgy, flowery hop leafy undertones. with a hint of chocolate, cookie dough, leading towards a malty, faint chocoaltey, lingering hop, roasty bitterness finish.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 davidm (1370) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 12, 2010
Tap at Volo, in cask. A masterpiece, it tastes like autumn. Aromas of wet leaves, cherry, cookies, and anisette. Taste is sweet, with bitter background, and long length. Oily, almost creamy, with a medium body. Brown, cloudy, the head doesn’t last.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hoser (365) - Cowtown, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 12, 2010
Would love to have this on tap some day, had out of a fresh growler, it tasted just a touch oxidised. These MJ beers are getting harder and harder to find. Only 138 of MJ’s Best Beers in the World to have.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 strowlands8 (168) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 28, 2009
Good beer, found it more interesting then other traditional dark ales that I’ve had recently. Really smooth but not quite as rich as I would have hoped.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dickinsonbeer (5075) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUL 25, 2009
Tap at Granite. Pours a deep woody brown with a nice foamy head and nice lace. Aroma is typical english ringwood, or even a yorkshire or conniston type yeasty butteryness- light caramel and nuttiness- evne though the butter is pretty big, it still works for this beer and it was ok overall- fairly smooth with a slight diacetyl slickness.
