Draft sample at Henry House. Aroma was fruity, like sweet berries. Very little head and light lacing. Unfiltered gold colour. Taste was more light sweet fruit with a nice hop finish. Body was crisp with light carbonation. Overall, a decent lighter ale that actually had some hops.

Odd taste, certainly detect soft mouth feel they talk about which is nice. Touch of sour aftertaste.

On tap @ The Henry House in Halifax, enjoyed as part of a tasting tray. Very bright clear golden, medium white head. Aroma is cereal malt, quite buttery. Grainy sweet and buttery flavors with low key dried leafy hop in the finish.

Growler from the brewpub. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a tiny soapy white head. Aroma is grainy, somewhat sweet with a mild citrus note. Taste same although citrus a little more pronounced. Light earthy hoppiness in finish. Nothing special but solid all the same.

Draft, Granite Brewpub. Clean gold pour, small head. Decent carbonation here. Very mild aroma; grains, sweet malt, perhaps a little citrus. Average golden ale taste. First introduction to the term Fuggle, though, so I’ll give this one points there. Slight citrus taste, but there’s nothing here worth going back form, IMO. Was expecting more, especially being unfiltered, but it is average at best.

On tap at the Toronto location, clear golden color, with a white head, light fruity, citrusy nose with a faint grainy wheat, pale malt note with a floral hop fruitiness, and a hint of wet hay in the aroma follows through on a light-bodied palate with a subtle grainy pale, wheat malt, flowery hop citrusy character with some leafy, grassy accents, leading towards a juicy lemony hop bitternesss finish.

Tap at Toronto location. Pours a very light gold with a thin white head. Aroma is earthy, light crackery notes, light fruits and surprisingly almost no butter anywhere. Flavor is crackerylightly doughy, floral somewhat fresh hops and some toast with a light bitterness in the end. Pretty nice- and easy drinking.

Draught @ Henry House. Clear golden with half-inch white head. Bright ringwood aroma and freshly baked sourdough bread, baked orchard fruits, and gingerbread. Gorgeously quaffable mouthfeel. Balanced flavors with bready character, some gingerbread, and delectable pastry. Apples. Butter tart ending in brisk hop. Gorgeous authenticity. Sublime quaffability. Amazing complexity out of a session ale. I love this brewery.

Objectively speaking: A competent take on the English golden ales without the modern (and highly pleasant) zesty tang.
I like: Decently aromatic for your typical brewpub blonde. Pleasantly extracted soft hay-like cerealic notions to the 2-rows malts.
I dislike: Fraily floral hops. Timid hoppiness where a citrusy or zesty bite would have gathered some serious attention, because 2-rows on its own just gets boring.
