3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2013-02-10. Nice brown body with a small quick tan head. 3+ Sweet malt core, with a decidedly English malt character. Sweetish with drier accents. Sweet toffeeish malt, very light bitterness, alcohol. Smooth average plus palate, soft carbonation. Sort of a strong mild? Enjoyable. Solid cask. 15+ On cask at Rhino Winter Festival, Toronto

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear, slightly orangey dark drown with creamy, lasting light tan head and decent retention. Aroma is a lovely balance of smoky and sweet with roasty dark malt and toffee. Taste is also beautifully balanced with toffee, maple, light roasty coffee and a little dark fruit. Creamy mouthfeel, fine carbonation. Quite nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep ruddy amber pour with a tight tan head. The aroma is softly sweet and lightly fruity. A touch of stone fruit and berries with a touch of plum. Smoke is so subtle it’s barely there - a suggestion of phenolics. A nice clean UK caramel malt flavour along with a bare suggestion of spicy hops. Pretty nice pint really. Would do well with a fireplace.
