COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A very special brew, originally made in honor of the 1,000th batch of beer brewed at our Sioux Falls brewery. Cascade and Summit hops dominate the flavor of this beer, giving intense citrus & pine character.

As far as GC’s beers go this is near the top, but its still pretty mild and lackluster.

Draft at GC Rockford. Pours a cloudy dark orange with about a finger of white head. Aroma of pine hops with a little caramel mixed in. Taste is medium bitter. Pine hops and caramel malt. Medium bodied with a thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, pretty darn good. The best I’ve had yet from GC.

Tasted at Kansas City location. Clear orange with a creamy off white head. Light citrus and pine hop aroma and taste with a strong caramel malty backbone.

Had on 12-23-2010 at Lincoln, NE. Best six dollar pitcher I ever bought. They put the pitcher down in front of me and I was entranced. Not as malty as I would like. Very piney flavor.

This draft brew on release day from the Fort Wayne restaurant poured a small sized head of frothy medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a softly carbonated semi-hazy dark orange red colored body and a fair lacing. The deep aroma was hoppy and floral. The smooth thick crisp mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The deep flavor contained notes of deep floral hops, Irish red hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Draft at Peoria. Pours medium amber with a light beige head. Nice floral and citrus hop aroma. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of caramelly malts with a citrusy and gentle piney hoppiness. Dry bitter finish. Decent and one of their better offerings.

Draft sample at IBG 2010 Winterfest. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus hop and earthy aroma. Medium body with thick slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good complex beer.

growler from my father in law, pours hazy light amber with a tall frothy off white head. Mellow citrus hop aroma is notes of toast and bread. Very strong pine hop flavor with a lightly sweet bready malt touch. Not bad, this packed a bigger punch than I thought.

draft at Ft Wayne GC - Pours deep copper with a big off-white head. The aroma is all about the grapefruit accented hops. The flavor is intensely hopped with citrus and a touch of pine. The hop bitterness is not as intense as some double IPAs though the style is still clear. A malt body with a hint of caramel lends a little sweetness to it and the accustomed hop heavy finish of the style is there. It’s not the best double IPA, but it’s good and I’m pleasantly surprised GC offers this less accessible style for a change. They poured it into their usual 25 oz mug club member glass, which surprised me as well. That’s a heck of a lot of brew at 9% abv.
