COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A thick creamy head sits atop the opaque blackness of this traditional dry Irish Stout. Roasted chocolate and coffee notes make this beer a great treat.

An okay looking stout, but really there was not much flavour here. Watered down. Cheap.

Tried at Granite City Brewery in Kansas City. Part of a flight. Found all of the beers to be watered down and mediocre at best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a beautiful deep black with a good two inches of thick tan head. Excellent count-the-number-of-sips lacing. Sadly, Iíve now come to the point where I stop being impressed. Very mild roasted grain in the aroma. A little bit of coffee in the flavor, but not much. Exceptionally mild taste, it isnít even going to frighten away the beer novice. Thin body, not much character. This one proves that dark beers arenít always bold, potent, or bitter.

On tap at Cherry Valley. Not the best stout Iíve had by far but nice roasted chocolate coffee and malt flavors

St. Louis Park location. Chocolate, cocoa and dry malt on the nose. Pours black with a thick khaki head with excellent retention. Flavor reminded me of Guinness Draught. Mostly dry with a hint of malty sweetness. Medium boded and creamy. Lacked depth and complexity.

Grabbed a growler from Granite City in Rockford, IL(very expensive $15 plus $8 to fill) and would not recommend their growlers since they seem to lack the ability to keep the beer carbonated well. Poured from the growler black. Aroma is toasted malts and strong of coffee. Flavor is a good bitterness with great coffee flavor and has a faint caramel end note. Palate is a bit weak and lacks any depth in density of the brew.

Source: Brewpub, Madison

Appearance: black, creamy tan head, solid lace,
Aroma: light roasted malt aroma,
Body: creamy body,
Flavor: rich roasted malt flavor, lots of burnt coffee character, lasting bitterness rises out of the burnt malts,
Overall: too much burnt black coffee for me

Thick creamy light brown head, dark brown in color, faint coffee aroma with a slight coffee/chocolate flavor. Thin, watery mouthfeel and not much of a finish. Not bad for someone getting into stouts but doesnít stand up to the better ones.

Nitro pour at the brewpub in Fargo. Black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, a bit of chocolate. Flavor is toasty and smooth but mouthfeel is dissapointingly thin and watery. Fairly mediocre stout.

Tap. Dark reddish-brown pour with almost no head. Aromas are chocolate, oatmeal, and nuts. Tastes boring. Watery chocolate, light roast, light cream. Thin body.
