COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A thick creamy head sits atop the opaque blackness of this traditional dry Irish Stout. Roasted chocolate and coffee notes make this beer a great treat.

On tap, Cedar Rapids IA location. Poured black with very good head retention. Mouthfeel was creamy. By sight and mouthfeel this seems to be a good beer, but the flavor just wasn’t there. There was a hint of coffee and chocolate flavors. The flavor just has no complexity to it. This was by no means terrible, it just has nothing to make me want to enjoy it. This probably could have been called Stout Lite.

Black with a tan head and a ruby glow when held up to the light. Has a weak coffee aroma with a slight hint of chocolate. Smells very similar to Guinness. It starts off with a malty taste then moves to a watery taste and finishes with coffee, again very similar to Guinness. This beer had good lacing and head retention. Basically a Guinnes knock off.

Looks and tastes like milk chocolate...some strange spritziness in the mouthfeel that seemed out of place...some coffee notes...some surprisingly bitter hopping...but very thin-bodied, especially for a stout!

Completly opaque. Dark, dark brown with a tan head that is very fine foam. Aroma of roast malts, kinda nutty - but that could just be me. A bit watery palate, bt is still sticky. Sweet notes with roast flavours again. There are some chocolatey and caramel flavours in there as well. It’s a bit thin overall but still bests guiness

Tap at granite city in Kansas City, MO. Poured a darker brown color with a nice tan head. Aroma was coffee, roasted malts and chocolate. Very dry finish. Thiin and watery body. Flavor was much of the same. Roasted malts, coffee and nuts. Could have been a lot beer. Below average.

On tap @ the Granite City Food & Beer in the Indianapolis airport, concourse A. A thin offering, simple roast, cola-ish sweetness. Didn’t finish it.

Maple Grove, MN location. Black color with a thin, white, lasting head. Aroma has subtle coffee. Taste is just a bit malty with coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel was very creamy. It’s like a weak Guinness.

Wichita location: Was OK - very typical of a standard brewpub nitro stout. Creamy to the point of watery. What did stand out was a smooth hint of smoke near the finish. So yea, it had a little more character than some nitro stouts. Brown black with a firm creamy nitro head.
