Aroma chocolate jet black color with tan head and lacing. Taste is dry, but not as dry as a Guinness. Best at granite city, but even this was a middle of the road stout. Very low hops, chocolate and very low sweetness. Would have again though

Draft at GC Rockford. Pours dark black with a small bit of dark head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Taste if medium bitter. Lots of coffee and some dark bitter chocolate. Full bodied with a creamy texture. Soft carbonation and a long finish. Overall, pretty good. The only GC beer I’d bring home a growler of.

Tasted on tap at brewpub, St Louis, Missouri, USA in standard pint glass. Opaque black color with thick, creamy beige head. Some head retention, little lace. True-to-style aromas and flavors. Balanced hops bitterness. Dark and thick. Fruity ale fermentation. Lingering bittersweet aftertaste. Tasty but unmemorable.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 BVery (2559) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - SEP 29, 2011
Tap. Nice dark brown/black pour with a nice foamy cream head. Really nice chocolate and coffee aroma. Palate is impossibly thin - kills this beer. Taste is watery with similar elements as aroma.
