A nice malt flavor and a great contrast to some of their other beers. Not to heavy but it does have a great caramel and hit of chocolate.

12oz bottle courtesy of a friend. Poured a clear brown color, carbonation, with a small semi-off-white head. Aroma was heavy caramel malts, with a touch of spice character to it. Flavor was pretty much a spicy malt flavor, with a touch of caramel.

Draft in a sampler at Grante City-Creve Coeur. Pours a clear amber color with a small ring for a head. Aroma of sweet and toasty malts, sugar, chocolate, and earth. Flavor hits the same notes- sweet and toasty, with some gritty sugars and earthy notes. Light-medium bodied, with a malty mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Brewer gives a very accurate description in my opinion. "medium body, and a sweet smooth malt flavor" sums it up well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2012 Great smell. The aroma of this beer got me going. I couldn’t wait to drink it. What an interesting taste almost a grape taste. It went down smooth and left very little after taste.

Pours a deep brown with a beige head. Aroma is very malty, with toffee, chocolate, bread, and I think I detect some darker fruit in there, perhaps raisin. Earthy. This translates into a very similar taste, with the toffee standing out the most. Lighter in body with an earthy aftertaste. Nothing great here, but it isn’t bad.
