2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from a pitcher into a cold pint glass. Smells slightly malty but overall a very subdued aroma. Great dark brown color with a soft gentle tan head. Taste is of malts and nuts with a forgettable finish. Overall good plan but disappointing execution.

Pours a deep amber with off white head. Caramel and toast. Kind of in the mail Bock area but not much German style flavor a mail bock is known for

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour mahogany with a light tan head. The aroma has faint toasted malt. Medium smooth body with light carbonation. The flavor has light nutty malt and is very watery ~ common trait for all of their beers. Fair

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Blah! Reddish pour, malty aroma, & pretty watery mouthfeel. Not very good by any means - it is kind of drinkable tho.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap in Cleveland (OH)
The second beer almost crossed over into satisfying territory. Of the more regular drafts I would probably go for it because at least it provides something beyond a handful of hops, malts, and half hearted flavors. If you were forced to visit a Granite City location with friends consider this your best option (or go for water instead).
Aroma / Appearance - A semitransparent mahogany core glimmers with ivory head holding down the warm aromas. Roasted malts, iced tea, cheap red anise, and generic gas station coffee fuel a blend of aromas that capture the interest for a brief period before they become dull.
Flavor / Palate - Roasted walnuts, nuts, and iced tea rinse the palate clean like a glass full of water. Burnt cookie dough rounds out a finish that hardly inspires the desire to order a full pint. Of the regulars this one provides the best experience but thatís not saying much for a place that feels more about the image than the product.

Now known as The Bennie (Benedict?). It has a nutty flavor, a lot like a Brown Ale.
