2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tried at Granite City Brewery in Kansas City. Part of a flight. Found all of the beers to be watered down and mediocre at best. This one tastes like a bad batch or unclean lines.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at GC, looks atleast like the correct style of beer and has some big smokey malt flavor so I’ll give them credit for this one. it actually fits the style. still doesnt mean I’d want to drink more of it.

On tap in Saint Louis Park in Minnesota - fairly good scotch ale here with the nutty taste being the big takeaway.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at Granite City in St. Louis Park. Clear reddish amber pour with a smaller head. Nice aroma of smokey sweet malts. Palate is a bit thin, and the taste finishes slightly metallic.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pour is a clear copper/amber with a thin head. Aroma of malt, caramel, light roast and vanilla. Tastes is medium to thin. This style is hit or miss with me but I’d drink this again. One of the better offerings that GC has.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Certainly the best offering I’ve had at Granite City, this Scots Ale is nice, full flavored, malty, and creamy, with a little note of spiciness. A bit above the standard brewpub offering, if somewhat less than the greats of the style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Standard ale, quite indistinct. Poured from tap a strong red color with orange tinge, no head. Palate was very smooth, but the carbonation appeared stronger than expected and most other beers. Average malt flavor with a hint of caramel, nothing extraordinary.
