2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 SHIG (2706) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - APR 17, 2012
Draft: Poured a copper color with a white head. Aroma is malt. Taste is a weird blend of sour and malt, unlikely result from the blending of the two base beers.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2012 Sampler at GC Rockford. 4oz I think? Pours amber with minimal head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Taste is light sweet. Malt and caramel. With a slight hint of hops. Light bodied and thin textured. Lively carbonation and no finish. Overall, this is shit. It reminds me of when I was a kid and, since we were only allowed one glass a day, we would add water to Kool-Aid to make it last longer. Glad this is just a sample.

Pours pale barely hazy yellow with white foam. Little smell to it. Taste is very thin, mostly all malt not much hop, very light, a little sweet. Not too impressive.

growler... bright amber body, decent light off white head, a bit bubbly... the aroma is light, a bit of caramel and grains, not bad but nothing on... the taste is really light as well, exactly like the nose, not bad but totally boring, like drinking water with an eye drop full of caramel... I had really low expectations, wasn’t terrible but nothing worth drinking

Tap at the restaurant in KC, MO. Poured an orange color with a tiny white head. Aroma was malts and caramel. Flavor was cereal, malts and grains. Not a lot to this beer. The best you’ve ever had? Yeah right. Pretty weak.

Tap. What kind of half wit small time crappy suburban chain exec decides that you can take a watered down bock, further dilute it with an even water-ier pale lager, and put it out there as a "specialty brew"? Yes, Granite City, this is the shit that makes people laugh at you.

Draught at Cedar Rapids. Pours dark copper with whitish head. The aroma is weakly toasty with some flour notes and an herbal hint. The flavor is sort of bland maltiness with some toast and herbal hop character. Inoffensive I guess, but certainly uninteresting. I don’t know what the point of diluting the bock is.
