COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our lightest beer, the beer appears yellow with a slight cloudiness and is topped by a rich white head. The Wag’s Wheat has a bread like flavor from the malted wheat, backed by citrus undertones. Our interpretation of the American Wheat beer style is light and very refreshing to drink. For additional refreshment try adding a slice of lime or lemon to the beer.

Advertised as an American Wheat and on tap at the Rockford GC location. Arrived with a clear, golden color with a thin white head that leaves a decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is a pretty Pilsner grainy note with a little of wheat, light honey and lemon citrus notes. Flavor starts off with a light yeast bite, lemon citrus fruitiness in the middle, sweet honey and wheat flavors kick in at the end. Carbonation is very fine with a moderate overall density for the brew. An okay beer overall but it has a light metallic flavor that is common to some macros and detracts a bit from it.

Draft: Poured a hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is sour wheat. Taste is bitter wheat and somewhat sour. This is not a very pleasant beer overall to my palate.

Tap. Light wheat malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Sweet wheat malt flavor with a cherry/apple finish. Not bad.

Draft from GC Rockford. Pours a cloudy gold with minimal head. Aroma of wheat and cereal grains. Taste is lightly sweet. Mostly wheat with some grain. Light bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and an average finish. Overall, it’s ok but not something I would get again.

Pours pale thin yellow with white foam. Little smell. Taste is very thin, not much wheat, very light, a little sweet. Not too impressive.

From the restaurant in KC, MO. Poured a hazy yellow color with a tiny white head that was gone quick. Very thin and watery beer. Not much to this one. Smelled and tasted like grass, corn and grains. Very poor.

Tap. Slightly hazy light yellow pour with a small but clingy white head. Mild wheat and citrus on the nose. Light palate. Taste is pretty watery with a touch of wheat. Pretty boring.

Draught at Cedar Rapids. Pours hazy gold with small white head. The aroma is a little bit of fruit, mild orange, and maybe a touch of lemonbread. Flavor is grainy wheat with some herbal hop bitterness. Bitterness is a little edgier than I would like. Semi-dry hop finish.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 red from a tap into a pint glass at Granite City Food & Brewery in Sioux Falls, S.D. Color was hazy and murky. Slight head and even a slighter lacing that dissipated rather quickly. Not a lot of smells. Wheat, barley, grain led the way, all mediocre. Taste was wheaty and grainy. Also a little copper in there. Altogether, pretty bland. An average feel. Highly carbonated. Slightly refreshing. Not a great start for me to this brewery.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.
