500 ml can. Brilliant light amber colored. Thin greyish instantly dying head. Low aroma level, some sweetish grain and lemony fruit scent. Taste is unfresh, bordering to harsh, with sweetish caramellish malts, and a cardboardy and stale hopbitterness. Not really off, unatractive only.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2012 Boks fra Rema. Lett gylden bronsefarget innhold med litt hvit skum. Lett ristet malt aroma.

abstractbeer (181) - NORWAY - OCT 27, 2010
UPDATED: APR 6, 2011 Pours a dark orange with a nice frothy head. Initial nose is banana and bubblegum (I didn’t see that one coming!), finishing with nose of metal and some general "artifical flavor". On second thought, this smell is quite typical of Grans. Flavor is just like the nose. Banana & bubblegum. Very much like the Hubba Bubba bubblegum I loved as a kid. I don’t know how they dare claim that this is a christmas beer. If the brewery had tried to pass it off as a very unsuccessful attempt at making a Belgian like Duvel, I could believe them. But a christmas beer? Not in my mouth. But it’s an ok beer anyway, I think, not undrinkable. At least it tastes *something* which is way more than many of Grans’ other beers, even their regular christmas beer. Overall I’m a little confused about what to make of this, but I will probably finish the glass and hopefully never think about this beer again. One thing I’m sure of: a christmas beer it is not.

Can, thanks to akevitt for sharing. Pours a clear, golden body with off-white foam head. Aroma of funky belgian malts and maybe a hint of spice. Flavor is fairly watered down compared to the aroma and is mainly belgian malts and spices. Light bodied with a watery mouthfeel. Lightly carbonated with a slightly metallic finish.
