1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 Sigmund (3713) - Hafrsfjord, - MAR 18, 2005
(330 ml bottle. A friend left me a few bottles after a party.) Another beer of the "low carb" craze. Golden colour, moderate head. Unlike some other brewers of low carb beers, Grans have retained more of the flavour of their ordinary pilsener. In Gran’s case, that unfortunately also means the house character of over-boiled vegetables flavour and the metallic aftertaste. Avoid.

330 ml bottle. DarkgGolden body with a white head. Weak malty aroma. Flavor is plain malty with some kind of harsh sweetness. Not very pleasent.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Gr0ve (1878) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 29, 2006
330 ml bottle. Light brown colour. Medium-sized off-white head that seem to be persistent. Nutty and chocolatey aroma. Quite pleasant aroma in fact. Not much hops though. Dry, but also rich malty aroma with biscuits and a gentle mild hop bitterness. Prickly carbonation on the tongue. Finishes slightly watery and with a light hop bitterness. Starts out with a fine aroma, but finishes with nothing.
1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 larsga (4664) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 19, 2006
Huge white coarse-laced head subsides before too long. Darkish copper body. Sugary soda-pop aroma with unbalanced dark caramel and water, plus some vaguely roasty traces and butter. There’s quite a bit of aroma, but it’s completely lacking in balance, and has too much water and sugar, not to mention butter. Taste is watery, grainy caramel with an aftertaste of caramel and straw. Notes of butter here, too, and traces of metallic bitterness. This is just very, very poor. I don’t know what this is meant to be, but as a beer it really sucks. (0.33l bottle.)

I wonder where they get all therese beer types from? Probably buy a malt mixture from some cut price Central European exporter. Golden colour, some taste of malt, some unpleasant hops in there somewhere.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 yngwie (9201) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 29, 2005
UPDATED: MAY 9, 2007 Bottled. Golden with white head. Malty aroma. Malty flavor, but not the pleasant type. Sticky. Metallic and cauliflower aftertaste. Some bitterness. Theres some roastiness in the aroma and flavor too. Unfortunately it reminds me of burnt sugar. (051129)
