1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 yngwie (9201) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 20, 2009
Bottle. It surprised me with it’s clear, dark brown body and nice finger-thick off-white to beige head, but the aroma and flavor was unfortunately more like expected. Worse actually. It has a sweetish wort-aroma with loads of dish-washing water added, some cough medicine blending in and a generic puke-like touch. The flavor is a tad better, starting with sweet wort in a slightly bad way, then lots of caramel chimes in, accompanied by roasted malts and sugar. Some fruityness too, probably from hops, but there’s not much. Not much bitterness either, but there’s some, both hoppy and roasted, Fizzy, medium body that leaves a sugary fur on your teeth, and dries up after a while. Sticky-sweet finish with roasted malts and a hint of bitterness. Didn’t finish the bottle, not by far, and will certainly not revisit this one. 091220
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 Rune (5000) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 9, 2009
330ml dark green bottle shared with Frau Eva. The best part is its deep rosewood body appearance. Just a tiny off-white surface. Smell of grainy chocolate. Rugged sweet grain in flavour. Thin bodied, but, in fact, better than expected (Tromsø, 29.11.2009).
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 OleR (3658) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 12, 2009
0.33 L bottle. Beautiful apperance; A huge, foamy, lightly tanned, mostly lasting head, upon a brilliant. dark ruby colored body. Sourish bread to the nose. Also a faint sugar note, and a scent of boiled maize. Taste is fairly dry compared to most of the no-alcohol beers. Rather sour actually, with a good malt body. Noticeable bittering hops. Light-bodied. Feels quite diluted in the mouth. Short, sourish malty ending. Fair.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 RuneStumo (1464) - FØRRESFJORDEN, NORWAY - NOV 3, 2009
03.11.2009, 0,33l Bottle. Grans Bryggeri deserves some credit for trying to makea non-alcoholic christmas beer. The result is brown, very good looking beer with white head. Aroma is rather watery and there is not much malt or bitterness. There is no aftertaste. nothing! A little more hops would have been a good idea for this beer.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Sigmund (3713) - Hafrsfjord, NORWAY - NOV 3, 2009
330 ml green bottle. Non-alcoholic Yule/Christmas beer, sold only in REMA 1000 stores. Mahogany coloured beer, big beige head. Typical n/a beer aroma of malts, baby porridge and over-boiled vegetables. The flavour is malty with hints of caramel, not too sweet, lacks hops and any kind of "bite", but is not undrinkable.
