Light tobacco and mineral water aroma (!), beige head, very light flavour; apply with an orange finish. It’s not awful, it’s just not that great.

341 ml bottle. Pours a subtly veiled golden pale amber with a short lived white head. Flavor is caramel, grains, resin, corn. Finish is herbal hop, some grapefruits...definitely lacking in bitterness, here...medium body, somewhat sticky mouthfeel, average carbonation.

Bottled from the brewery shop. Quite a fragrant aroma, with elderflower and honey notes. Strongly flavoured with a whisky tang in there, vying with some great dry woody notes and background caramel. More whisky in the finish and some medicinal flavour too.

341 mL bottle. Pours a dark orange with a small head and nice lacing. Hoppy grapefruit aroma. Not bitter in the tongue. Really pleasant and well balanced. Long finish. Nicely crafted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Hooleys. This one pours a deep copper colour with just a bit of white head. Lots of malt and caramel flavours. Not a bad IPA overall.

I’m also surprised the ratings aren’t higher for this one. Decent IPA if not terribly original. Has a pretty one note hoppy flavor with the signature Granville Island aftertaste.

I thought its ratings would be higher than this, but at the same time I am not surprised. I doesn’t really do anything wrong, but it plays it real safe. A very good starter IPA to ween people off of lesser brews. It is a good IPA, and I would buy it again, but I won’t go nuts.

20 oz pint, local pub, Calgary. I really like this IPA. It’s not the biggest, hoppiest, most alcoholic IPA on the block by a long shot but it’s very drinkable. Aroma is definitely hops- lots of hops- but with a more floral note than most West Coast IPAs. Pale, clear beer with a minimal white head. Appearance not unlike a pint of Marston’s Pedigree. It tastes of hops, but not as bitter as a double IPA. There’s bitterness there but not an overwhelming amount. Light bodied, average texture, lively carbonation and a decent hoppy finish. Overall this is a beer I’m likely to order frequently and would happily drink all evening- unlike most 10% Imperial Double IPAs. It would be a good starter IPA for someone looking to explore the style, or else one to look out for in a local pub as it’s more interesting than standard choices in my area.
