UPDATED: NOV 12, 2011 It’s drinkable, but not memorable. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Is MT. Begbie a better offering? They’re close. If I just want to drink a beer this isn’t a bad choice.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Frothmeister (385) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 26, 2011
341ml bottle. Pours a red with a touch of brown, with a beige head. Aroma is sweet malt, with caramel, faint chocolate, some earthy notes, and straw. Watery malt with faint sweetness, faint cocoa, straw, mineral notes, and faint metallic hops. Horribly overpriced at $12.95 for a six pack. Pretty disappointing stuff.

On tap at Real Sports. Not bad, some light malts and maybe a small hint of a hop profile in the background. Certainly better than your average macro product.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 patricks110 (1215) - Alberta, CANADA - OCT 13, 2011
Drinkable and better than macro stuff, but not by much. The pour is a copper with a thick frothy beige head. A nose of light grass and bland hops with mild caramel and bready notes. The taste is very grainy and not very hoppy at all. Overall, not great.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Spab (1646) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 14, 2011
341 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear copper colour with thin off-white cap. Aroma is mild caramel malt and only a hint of some earthy hops. Flavour is caramel malt, slghtly nutty, with some light earthy hops. Rather mild carbonation. Pretty bland but not terrible.
1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 JesseM (1101) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2011
Pint on tap at the Kick Off. Clear amberish gold with a small white head. Aroma is flatter than.........something perpetually flat. Sour crappy creamy awful malts with no hops. Woopee! Flavour is mildly better, except why is it that lower end attempts at ’English’ pale ales always have that weird ass soury tinge? Lame as f***, and f*** can be be pretty lame when done wrongly (you know what I mean). Finish is unimpressive and sweetish. Goes down fairly easy, except that so does PBR. Good thing I was in good company. Why bother bringing this shit to Ontario?

341mL bottle poured a pale amber color with small white head and little lacing. Aroma of light grain and some floral hops. Taste is lightly sweet with a mild hop finish. Slightly above average brew.
