The English know a thing or two about pale ale. West Coasters know a thing or two about having a good time. Naturally, we kept these facts in mind when we perfected the recipe for English Bay Pale Ale. Tradition is served in the smooth, mild flavour and caramel malt aroma, and that distinctive West Coast character comes through thanks to natural carbonation and careful maturing. The result? A real pale ale with will rise to any occasion.

Amber pour with caramel, dough, and touch of hazelnuts on the nose. Medium bodied, quite smooth, average carbonation. Flavour is all malt - caramel, bread, grain. Left my mouth coated in an odd way. Sweet, and kind of nutty as well. It’s been a while since I’ve had anything from Granville, but I don’t remember their beers being this bad. Damn buy-outs.

On draft at Blue Mountain, Collingwood. No indication that this was an industrial effort so yer pays and finds out the hard way. Hey ho, maybe they could ot tell how bland it is in comparison with craft beer. Technically perfect but boring as a bladder.

Gift from the north. Not much in the nose after a clear copper pour. Flavor has some caramel and raisin notes but nothing really in your face. Not much of a hop factor, but they weren’t going for one. Easy drinker, nothing offensive.

Poured from a can. Clear golden color, medium white head. Mild sweet hops aroma. Medium body with a light hops flavor and a light finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.473 can. Clear, pale copper color and a small, off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, syrup, some DMS. Taste of pale malts, syrup, and caramel - simple and common but pleasant. Medium body, slick texture, and average carbonation. Finish is medium long and sweet, malty - very usual but agreeable in its simplicity. Overall a standard EPA, nothing out of the ordinary.

Draft pour schooner at the brewery. Pours a clear cower color with a patchy fizz head. Sweet fruity, malt aroma. Flavor is sweet, caramel, and a hint of raisin. Light, easy drinking, pale. Certainly doesn’t deserve the hate it gets. Alright beer here.

341ml bottle. Pours a clear copper with an average, short lived, off-white head that laces. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavour with bread, nuts and a light grassy, dry, bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Pretty average.

Can. The aroma is very deep, nice with prunes. The body is red, with medium white head. The taste is fruity, with some orange. Nice basic session ale.

Fat. Klar rödbrun med ett smutsvitt skum. Dofter och smaker av karamell, torkad frukt och malt. I smaken finns också trä. Lätt beska. Medel mot lite kropp.

A hint of apple and pear on a distinctive caramel base. Fairly smooth and tasty but the hops dynamic is absent. Finishes crisp and dry with a little treacle sweetness. Pleasant but devoid of all the "west coast character" promised on the label.

bottle - thanks to skykob for bringing this back from vancouver. pale amber to golden, clear with aminimal head; mushy aroma of soggy cereal, hints of hay and red berry; low bitterness, minimal hop character all around; a bit of a snoozefest
