The English know a thing or two about pale ale. West Coasters know a thing or two about having a good time. Naturally, we kept these facts in mind when we perfected the recipe for English Bay Pale Ale. Tradition is served in the smooth, mild flavour and caramel malt aroma, and that distinctive West Coast character comes through thanks to natural carbonation and careful maturing. The result? A real pale ale with will rise to any occasion.

Amber pour with caramel, dough, and touch of hazelnuts on the nose. Medium bodied, quite smooth, average carbonation. Flavour is all malt - caramel, bread, grain. Left my mouth coated in an odd way. Sweet, and kind of nutty as well. Itís been a while since Iíve had anything from Granville, but I donít remember their beers being this bad. Damn buy-outs.

473 ml can on the shore of Keji National Seaside Park in Nova Scotia. . Tea colored with exceptional clarity, visible carbonation and a fine head. Mild flavor thatís only a bit more hoppy than malty. Clean and well balanced but mild like a session pale ale. Medium body and carbonation.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

On tap at carbones, pours a nice copper color, light malty aromas and a rusty kind of caramel malt flavour, definitely not my favorite pale ale

Pours clear copper with a small white head. Malt and grain aroma. Roasted malts, carmel and a little hop in the taste. Decent beer.

Had a pint at The Paupers Pub on Bloor st. in Toronto. Pint arrived with a thin layer of foamy head. Has a dark coppery amber appearance. Aromas of mild hops and malts. A bit of grains and wheat coming through as well. Taste is of light roasted malts and a good balance of fresh hops. Very mild spices. Somewhat bitter aftertaste. Not too bad.

Pours a clear red/copper color with a medium bubbly white head. Pretty high carbonation on the eye. Nose of mild 2 row malt with a bit of sweet caramel/fruits. Oily mouthfeel. Not as sweet as I thought it would be you get some flower in the taste. You then get the maltiness and a bit of the hops come throught at the end. Not as bad as I first tought but not outstanding. Lacks a bit of complexivity

On tap at The Keg Steakhouse (Alberni). Aroma is malty and caramel, with some notes of hops on the background. Taste is caramel, malty, slightly hoppy. Caramel and slightly bitter hoppy aftertaste. A quite mediocre beer.

Floral grainy nose. Medium heavy foam with a clear copper colour. Initial taste of molasses, biscuit with a grassy aftertaste. Seems a little watered down. Good amount of carbonation. Ok ale.

Can from LCBO. Light caramel aroma if you sniff hard enough. Flowery taste with caramel undertones.

On draft at Blue Mountain, Collingwood. No indication that this was an industrial effort so yer pays and finds out the hard way. Hey ho, maybe they could ot tell how bland it is in comparison with craft beer. Technically perfect but boring as a bladder.
