2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at the brewpub. Clear bronze colour. Liht papery malt aroma. Sweetish with light body, lightly toasty. A laid back beer with low hop rate and bitterness. Just too anonymuos.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draught at the taproom
Bright copper color, thin creamy head. There is some caramel, but no character, dry mouthfeel, common bitterness, very light breadish touch, it doesn’t even seem an Ale; weak final. And very boring.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from BC Liquor store. Amber, thin white head. Odd bit of stale malt on aroma. Bit of diacetyl or caramel. Not huge hop. Some presene towards the end for the hop. Not much of a pale ale profile. 2.4/5
On tap at Granville Island Brewery. Copper, thin off white head. I don’t care for th e butter/caramel on this. Crisp hop finish is reminiscent of the lager. Bit of stale malt aroma. Nothing muchin the mouth, some malt, some caramel. Undistinguished pale ale.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Amber colour. Vague caramel aroma. Very sweet. Vaguely caramelly, but nothing else. No hop, no yeast, no roasty malts, no clean bready pale ones either. The can says they’ve perfected the recipe - my ass they have. This is a triumph in gibberish.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2004 Light amber colour with a very thin lace. Good caramel smell, some chocolate and sweet-smelling aroma. Taste is of sweet chocolate and a slight hint of vanilla. Very faint hops in the finish, but still quite good.
Rerate: Amber colour and a cloudy off-white head. That's about where the similarities to my previous rating ends, metallic and skunky aroma, flavour is decently malty but underhopped. Overall quite horrible.
