Heavy fruit aroma along with whatever that yeast is that goes so well with this fruit beer. This one really does remind me of Wild Rose Raspberry, quite a few similarities. Poured with a lot of head, mine’s just in a standard beer glass, not a flute. Faded quickly, a bit orangy brown with all that redness. Taste’s very similar to WR Rasp, but with the same pungent fruit and yeast there’s not much else to work with, I guess. The malts are different, but it’s only barely noticable under the sweet, tart and yeast flavours. After the initial fruit blast of flavour and the yeastiness and malty afterthought it fades from your mouth very quickly. No bitter aftertaste from the seeds or anything like that. A pretty nice fruit beer, but I feel like I’ve had it’s bigger brother before...

Taster @ Shipstone, Ganges. Reading the reviews it seems no one really likes this beer. Not sure if all the lambics and sours I’ve been drinking have skewed my perception but I thought this was a totally serviceable raspberry ale. Not a whole lot of malt backbone but I suppose that’s the point, eh?

In bottle; not good ... I am hoping for something almost lambic but this is a lager with a faint off raspberry taste. I does not work well together; Quite disappointing ... now I am stuck with the other 5 from the 6 pack

Lagerboy (420) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2012
Unclear reddish pink, thin pink tinged head quickly fades. Fruity berry malty aroma. Tart berry malty taste, no hopped. Lively carbonation, light bodied, thin and watery. Berry acidic finish.( I remember this being much better when it was packaged as Raspberry Wheat in a 650 ml bomber, but that was before the big boys took over.) LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

pours cara-cara orange flesh pink, half-lacing, micro carbonation, smallish head. Slight muted raspberries on the nose and nothing much else. Initial burst of tartness, minor sourness, and then a very blanketed raspberry aroma. The tartness persists throughout while the soft but over-carbonation covers the entire top of the mouth. Finishes mildly bitter and somewhat rough. Low-medium complexity, low depth, short length. Can’t say I’m a fan.

This beer didn’t really do it for me. They did a good job of incorporating the raspberry without making it seem to unnatural but the actual beer backbone was lacking.

reebtogi (2191) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 14, 2011
341mL bottle labelled as 4.5%ABV poured clear amber with pink hues and a pinkish head with traces of lace. Aroma is slight of raspberries and some malt. Taste is mild raspberry with some maltiness. There is an off taste in this beer that I can not put a finger on. This beer is definitely not one of the better fruit beers. I did not enjoy this one at all.

mcberko (2475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 3, 2011
Sampled on tap at St. Augustine’s, pours clear pinkish orange with a small beige head. Aroma of artificial raspberries and quite muted at that. Flavour of weak, artificial raspberries amd wheat. Very watery, artificial and weak. Not good.

Amber color with red hue; generous creamy head. Very light aroma, some fruits. A timid Pale Ale with no wheat character and light fruity acidity. Some bitterness. Not very good, like most fruit beers.
