COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Imperial India Pale Ale is a hopped-up version of beers made famous by the British Raj over a century ago. Big malt, bold hops and a higher-alcohol content all mean one thing: more flavour. Combining local and English malts with Pacific Northwest hops and special yeast, our Imperial IPA is complemented by a unique citrus-peel bitterness that’s excellent for toasting Vancouver’s 125th birthday this year. Cheers, Vancouver!

Bomber from local store nearby. Pours deep orange brown hue. Foam is faint and fades quickly. Flavor is awesome of hops and malt. Really solid beer. Almost as good as most SoCal beers. Good stuff.

22oz, thanks Alex. Lightly hazed orangey golden with loose head. Piney, slightly astringent hop, doughy bread malts, touch of orange marmalade. Balanced bitter, slightly doughy sweetness. Drinks more like an imperial version of a english ipa.

Clear amber color; medium head. Hoppy aroma, fruity, oranges and apricots. Good dry toffee flavor, no apparent sweetness to talk about (this is a quality), and a bold hopping, that is both fruity and sweaty. Strong final bitterness, very strong in the end.
Pleasant, clean, straight.

Bottle. Mild hoppy aroma. Clear copper colour. Very small head. The flavour is mildly hoppy. Tastes roasted, but it is probably just the heavy bitterness.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle, 65cl. It pours a clear, amber beer with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma blends caramel maltyness and resiny, piney hops in a quite pleasant way. The flavor does the same trick, with the bitterness coming strong towards the end. Full-bodied and warming. There’s caramel maltyness, resiny and citrus peel-like hops. A pleasant one indeed, although there’s something with it I’m not too fond of. Can’t really pin what it is though. 120218
