Draft at The Black Tomato. Pours clear bronze, thin cream coloured head. Lacing is average, for a draft beer. Nose is cinnamon, light fruit, malt, maple, and red licorice. Flavours are lightly spicy, with soft red fruit as well as apples. Finish is spicy plum. An inoffensive, but unremarkable winter ale.

Draft at the calling. A very likeable sweet and chocolatey esa. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a light and creamy mousse on top. Sweet milk chocolatey nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Pronounced chocolatey quality with a bit of brown sugar. Not much hop in the finish. Very approachable, broad appeal.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1614) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 12, 2012
On tap at Sherlocks downtown. Medium amber thin white cap. Thin chocolate caramel toasty perfume vanilla aroma. Decent smell. The taste is ok but the gassiness got annoying quickly. Vanilla, light chocolate with a faint orange flavor, toffee toastiness, slightly astringent, light tang that is very short lived as well as a smidgen of bitterness but only on the odd sip. This is on the brink of being too sweet. Not great but a decent light weight option at the bar.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bendrixian (356) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - DEC 25, 2011
Clear brew and has an amber colour. sweet notes almost vanilla and caramel note. more of the same on the palate but light body and almost no alcohol kick. i find it thin and overfiltered.

341ml bottle. Pours clear, dark amber with a hint of tan head that doesn’t really stick around. Very sweet nose of caramel and butterscotch with a maltiness underneath and a little vanilla. There’s a definite green note on the palate with that same caramel and vanilla back. Finishes crisp but there’s a lagery feel at the end.

341ml brown bottle. Pours out orange, off white head with a tight bead, creamy lace. Nose is sweet, big caramel and vanilla notes. Mellow flavour with caramel and grain. Finishes drier, some grain, caramel. Medium body, average carbonation, pretty smooth and soft, not a bad effort from this brewery.
