3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s always nice to see this winter ale back on the shelves in the fall. Very sweet, rich flavour. Caramel, vanilla tones. Rich, smooth texture. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t want more than a few a year. Just too sweet. But it is nice to pick a few up each year and have a treat. But for an everyday beer, no thank you.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Sugary sweet with a strong artificial taste of vanilla. I was given a six pack of this beer and will pass on the remaining five bottles to someone else.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Amber color with a thin rapidly dissipating head. Very little carbonation. The aroma is very bread like to the exclusion of pretty much everything else. It tastes nothing like it smells however. Very sweet and malty. Vanilla and brown sugar are the most dominant flavors. The taste brings to mind that of instant oatmeal. Mouthfeel is quite thin. Not what I would think of when I imagine a winter ale. Glad I tried it, but not one I will go back to.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at GI taproom. Pour a clear, light mahogany with an off-white head. Doughy, spicey vanilla aroma with a hint of burnt sugar. Flavor of doughy, bready malts, vanilla, spice, crème brûlée-ish cream and burnt sugar hints. Slightly viscous, moderate body. Overall experience is not unlike a fresh baked cinnamon roll. Very nice and holiday appropriate. I like this way more than I would have expected to.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
It pours a nice amber color with a small off white head that goes to a thin ring of head. It has a small amount of carb and a decent body.
The aroma has some solid vanilla and cinnamon.
The flavor is the best part of this beer and the warmer it gets the better it is. I am getting some carmel, brown sugar, cinnamon. The spices and vanilla tend to steal the show. But overall it’s a vanilla extract.
It finishes with a little lingering sweetness and vanilla. The first time I had this it was on tap. It was better on tap. But still overall and a nice beer to drink by the fire place after a long day of skiing.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Clear dark amber, medium almond head. Sweet burnt sugar and vanilla aroma. Flavour is the same, with some maple notes as well. Pleasant enough flavours, but I agree that it has a "coffee shop" syrup quality to it. Underlying beer is a bit thin. Alright, but nothing I’d come back to.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not a bad beer, but tastes overly fake with the vanilla and spices. I wish this beer was about 7% ABV and had real vanilla aroma and taste instead of fake vanilla extract. Otherwise, this beer is pretty average but quite drinkable overall.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught at the taproom
Dark amber color; creamy head. Do I smell vanilla? It’s quite artificial. Light vanilla aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, medium caramel flavor, with a more evident touch of artificial vanilla. Correct bitterness. You may like it, but it’s fake.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep amber with a decent white head. Aroma is malt, slightly spiced. Taste is malts with a strange nutty flavor almost like toffee. Interesting, not great, but not bad.
