Pours a brownish red colour with a nice big white head but if you look away you might miss it as it doesn’t last long. Smells of chocolate mint tastes sweet, caramel, slightly burnt with light chocolate notes. Tasty from time to time. I hear it was better before molson/coors bought them up but I have nothing to compare it to. One of granvilles better beers.

On tap @ Churchill’s Ottawa. Pours a clear, deep chestnut brown, thin off-white head. Aroma is dark chocolate. Taste is like a Black Forest cake in a glass (semi-sweet chocolate, dark cherries, vanilla) and a little nuttiness on the back end. Very light body and mild/short bitter finish. Fascinating beer but definitely a dessert kind of beer, not for a session.

Bottle from Granville Island Brewery, Vancouver. Nice light brown color, good head... Mild malt taste with beautiful vanila aftertaste... I like it...

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2013 By far the best thing Granville Island has ever come up with. Dark brown/amber colour with white head, though fading quite quickly. Initially aroma of mint chocolate, vanilla, maybe some cinnamon. Taste is sweet and malty milk chocolate with a touch of a bitter aftertaste. GI should come up with more stuff like this in order to improve their reputation. Re-rate: I don’t care what anyone says, this is a damn fine beer.

On tap. Pours a dark brown with light head. Aromas of malt and chocolate. Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malt. Surprisingly nice.

From a growler. Pours a very nice burnt amber colour, short but creamy head. Aroma has a very pleasant sweetness to it, and almost like a faint nutmeg. Flavour is absolutely superb; a candy-like sweetness but not overpowering, toasty nuts, vanilla. I would drink this with a piece of fruitcake beside an open fire and consider myself well and truly ready to die happy. Superb.

12oz can courtesy of my niece, who is awesome and end of story. Clear and slightly bubbly amber with an average but long-lasting fizzy off-white head (3+). Interesting aroma - hugely grainy, with fuggles bitterness. Taste follows, cocoa and vanilla sweetness, very light - I really like it! Light body, slick, mild carbonation, quick finish - not what I think of a winter beer, but pretty drinkable.

I really liked the chocolate and mint aroma of this beer, though the taste was not as strong. Very enjoyable beer.

Can [355] courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a clear deep orange-amber with an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Decent enough aroma of vanilla, caramel malt, lactic notes, nuts and milk chocolate. Flavour follows the aroma and also starts with vanilla followed by caramel malt, very light hops, grain, nuts, lactic notes and milk chocolate. Light, dry bitter finish. Average bodied. A little too sweet for me but better then I expected. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.

Wow...something good by Granville. Quite good in fact. Smells like pure unadulterated chocoate milk. Very cool. Flavours are sweet milk chocolate and mint. What a refreshing beer. Really liked it.
