3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can, LCBO. Sweet vanilla aroma. Dark amber pour, foamy tan head. Taste - not bad. Lots of vanilla - a bit too much - but it goes well enough with the sweet caramel tasting base. Light bodied and well carbonated. A bit watery. Not bad, but too much vanilla to get much else. Lots of flavour though.

It hurt to open my eyes. The distant sound of kids playing soccer admist the honking of car horns. Yelling taxi driver to my delight, was not directed at me. I sat up and threw back my greasy hair and groaned. I smelt a sweet caramel aroma drifting into my cocaine laced nostrils. No, this was not the smell of the cheap whore I had violently spilled love into hours earlier. She was blacked out from the intense pleasure I had bestowed on her frail hips. Indeed, my assistant Michael had cracked open this canned beer of which they call the Lions Winter Ale and brought it within inches of my face. With a swift stroke of my hand, I sent Michael to the floor for his forward gesture. Nonetheless, I recovered the beer as it slowly spilled onto the dirty oak floor of the brothel in which I was housed. I chugged the beer in two large gulps and screamed, "THIS BEER HAS A MILD BITE TO IT!". The golden foam lacing my overgrown mustache as I breathed heavily. The after taste was subtle but bold. I grabbed Mike by the scruff of his neck as I headed out to find myself another. My name is Scott Purchase and I recommend this biere.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Nice dark amber pour into english pint glass. Clear body. Aroma of cheap spiced rum and vanilla extract. Tasting notes: Overpowering taste of cheap rum and vanilla. The closest comparison I can give this beer is pouring half a bottle of cheap spiced rum into a flat coors light. Upon first few sips this beer was immediately dumped down the sink. Stay away from this beer and others from GIB, terrible experience.

On tap. Dark amber pour, tan head. Medium carbonation. Very sweet aroma of vanilla, cocoa, Irish cream coffee. Pretty sweet throughout. Malty backbone. This is syrupy. Not complex or balanced.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2013 Really wish Coors would stop pushing this crap in Ontario. Chocolate & mint on the tongue (which is odd cuz the additive used in vanilla flavour). Rating stolen from Janiceís pint at paupers. She says its ok but only one, thank you. I say none.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear dark red in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas are of toasted malt, vanilla, and mild Christmas spices. Milk chocolate and vanilla dominate the palate, with some warming spices and a mild floral note providing balance. Medium bodied. Not typically a fan of this style of beer, but this one wasnít too bad. Would be good as a lighter after dinner beer.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2013 330ml bottle into a pilsener glass. Pours a transparent garnet with a lasting fluffy white head. Nose of overpowering chocolate and vanilla, and the flavour is reminiscent of drinking a purified chocolate brownie. Definitely not a session beer (which I was, unfortunately, blindly treating it as upon first taste). Digestif only from here on out. Totally unexpected.

Perhaps the chocolate and vanilla are over the top, but I like it that way. This brew speaks to me in a way that I canít quite articulate.

Bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a caramel colour with a white head that quickly disappears to a ring. Nose is vanilla, malt, and chocolate. Taste follows nose. Average beer.

473ml can. Pours a clear, dark caramel with a frothy, two finger, off-white head that thins to a thick, milky film that coats the glass well. Mild bubbles can be seen rising.
Aroma is bready with notes of caramel, vanilla, spice and a touch of white chocolate.
Taste is balanced. A fair amount of malt sweetness but not sickly sweet. Slightly spiced aftertaste but again, not overdone.
Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Slightly slick in the mouth but still fairly crisp.
Overall not bad. Great appearance with a well rounded aroma and taste. Good show. Would but again to mix it up but probably not in the summer. I couldnít drink a lot of them because of the sweetness but still worth a taste.
