3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from the brewery. Pours amber with haziness and a thin head. Nose is big hops with slight pine; flavor is mostly bitter without that malt backbone expected in an IIPA. Not great.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
650ml bottle from the brewery shop. Big pungent piney aroma and an explosion of fresh hops all over the tongue. Spicy and bitter with plenty of grassiness, lots of alcohol but in keeping with the beer and not overruling it. Hazy amber pour with a white head

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Cloudy orange-amber pour. Lots of citrus hops in the aroma. Fairly bitter flavour, tons of hops. Grapefruit notes. Thick palate, a little boozy and surprisingly dry. Not in love with this one, but not a bad DIPA. Just a little unbalanced.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours rich amber with good head. Huge Hoppy aroma with citrus and granadilla. Medium mouthful with ok carbonation. Huge flavour of hops. To hop upfront for me

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Lasting foamy off-white head atop a copper body. Nose of pine and leaf and melon. Flavour is nice, youíd never know this was near 9% but there is a lingering earthy flavour through the finish that leaves this only an "average" beer rating.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared with northropfrye. Nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. Nice lacing, but the head fades fast. Watery finish. Iím not all that impressed with this one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light amber body with lasting foaming off white head and lacing. Attractive. Resinous aroma, woodsy, pine. Taste is not intensely bitter but it is quite flavourful. Sweet fruity malts, a bitter grapefruit in the aftertaste. Some booze warmth, but abv quite well masked. Nice double IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A decent dipa. Pours a nice orange with creamy white head. Aromas are strong corn syrup and dankness. This brew tastes like it was made to be hoppy for the sake of being hoppy. Not very successful. Really strong bitterness.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014-05-29, bottle from BC Liquor, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Hazy, bright, light amber color with medium head, not much retention. Hops aroma, some grainy malt, but also a light apple scent (not desired). Full bodied, but the mouthfeel manages to be lean, also because the sweetness is not excessive; chewy malts with a toffee accent; strong bitterness, resiny hopping first, but also partially fruity; orangey and piney final.
It was better from the cask, but itís still a good value (one extra point for this).
2014-05-25, draught at Granville Island taproom, 7-4-7-5-14=37
Amber color, more than hazy, served with small head. The aroma is a bit footy, with moderate fruity hop presence. Round body, moderate sweetness, not cloying; strong malt and caramel flavor, nice but not amazing hopping, with a good fruity and resiny contribution; on the plus side, itís a well integrated IIPA, on the minus side, itís not bright and fresh as the best ones.
2014-05-19, draught at St. Augustineís, Vancouver, 7-5-8-5-15=40
Hazy light amber color with small head. Very good IIPA, with resiny and fruity hops, full bodied, sweet but not excessive: not as fruity as the cask version.
2014-04-25, cask at London Pub, Vancouver, dry-hopped with Amarillo, 8-3-8-5-17=41
Murky light amber color with generous compact head. It had to be served from a jug because of too much foam. The aroma is fruity in a prepotent way, also a bit yeasty. The carbonation is soft, increasing the drinkability of this beer; the sweetness is very moderate; good, sweet malt flavor with a tiny toffee touch; strong bitterness; the hops provide in equal amount a lot of resins and orangey fruitiness; also a very light earthy/animal touch.
Despite the amount of yeast in suspension, itís not too heavy or dirty.
Fresh and very drinkable, delicious.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber with slight haze, thin bubbly head. Smells like an old fashioned chewy IIPA, not all that enticing for amarillo & simcoe. Syrupy, alcohol, lots of high cohumulone bitterness, but again a stale hop character that really makes this a chore... Some styles are not suited to throwback week.
