COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Batten down the hatches, there’s a ship-storm of fierce flavour headed your way. It’s a squall of non-stop hops right to the bitter end.

This beer was hand-crafted at the taproom on Granville Island using a recipe straight from the notebook of our brewmaster, Vern Lambourne.

Lagerboy (1232) - British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 9, 2014
Bomber. Clear medium orange copper, mostly fading tan foam. Fruity coniferous aroma. Bitter spicy orangey citrus hop taste, slightly floral, faint pine, mild pale malts, fainter caramel. Softer than average carbonation, light-medium bodied, well hopped. Tasty but pretty tame for an Impy. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Bottle, shared with Grippitis. Deep orange amber, sweet fruity-caramel malty body, moderate bitterness. Sweet and a bit heavy.

wheresyourball (517) - El Cajon, California, USA - AUG 28, 2014
Bottle from the brewery. Pours amber with haziness and a thin head. Nose is big hops with slight pine; flavor is mostly bitter without that malt backbone expected in an IIPA. Not great.

650ml bottle from the brewery shop. Big pungent piney aroma and an explosion of fresh hops all over the tongue. Spicy and bitter with plenty of grassiness, lots of alcohol but in keeping with the beer and not overruling it. Hazy amber pour with a white head

Bottle. Cloudy orange-amber pour. Lots of citrus hops in the aroma. Fairly bitter flavour, tons of hops. Grapefruit notes. Thick palate, a little boozy and surprisingly dry. Not in love with this one, but not a bad DIPA. Just a little unbalanced.

Pours rich amber with good head. Huge Hoppy aroma with citrus and granadilla. Medium mouthful with ok carbonation. Huge flavour of hops. To hop upfront for me

CapFlu (4523) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 27, 2014
Lasting foamy off-white head atop a copper body. Nose of pine and leaf and melon. Flavour is nice, you’d never know this was near 9% but there is a lingering earthy flavour through the finish that leaves this only an "average" beer rating.

dreamflower (576) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JUN 24, 2014
Bottle shared with northropfrye. Nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. Nice lacing, but the head fades fast. Watery finish. I’m not all that impressed with this one.

northropfrye (2213) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JUN 24, 2014
Light amber body with lasting foaming off white head and lacing. Attractive. Resinous aroma, woodsy, pine. Taste is not intensely bitter but it is quite flavourful. Sweet fruity malts, a bitter grapefruit in the aftertaste. Some booze warmth, but abv quite well masked. Nice double IPA.

A decent dipa. Pours a nice orange with creamy white head. Aromas are strong corn syrup and dankness. This brew tastes like it was made to be hoppy for the sake of being hoppy. Not very successful. Really strong bitterness.
