COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its deceiving elegance and beauty, the Betrayer is not to be trusted. An orange hue and frothy head, its appearance reveals nothing of the character within. Noble hops provide a herbaceous and floral tone, while the body imparts a refreshing minerality and acidity. The delicacy of a rose, the backbone of an Antwerp longshoreman, this tripel remains enigmatic.

Draft... Muckfest 2014... Pours hazy and orange with a small, creamy, white head. Full-bodied with prickly carbonation. Tastes and smells like a Belgian triple. Hoppy, with accompanying notes of pear and clove. Bittersweet finish.

Draft pour. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head of foam. Spice and honey aroma. Sweet and spicy taste. Thicker mouthfeel and lower carbonation.

Bottle shared by Dr Silverworm. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex floral and yeast aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. Medium to heavy complex bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good beer.

22oz bottle, $10 from And Beer. Shared at Tmoney99ís 10K tasting. Batch #20. Foamed just a little bit upon opening. Hazy clear golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Some loose bits of lace. Smooth, soft carbonation. Medium to bigger body, kind of drying finish. Some banana, belgian yeast.. Iím getting a disctint old hop type taste that I usually notice in old belgians. This is likely a year old, to be fair (purchased less than a month ago). That kind of flavor bothers me more than others, but aside from that, itís a solid tripel. Some mustiness, toffee. Caramel. Light spice. Hides the bigger alcohol well.

Bomber to taster (shared by DrSilverworm). Looks good; a fluffy semi-transparent deeper golden orange with ample eggshell head. Smells sweet and malty with some floral otes as well. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Not bad.

22 oz bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, honey, some toasted bread, yeast, dry, light citrus, herbal with some alcohol. Decent enough for a triple. This has been a tripel heavy tasting.

Sample at the Brews Cafe "Spring Forward" beer festival on 03/09/2013: The beer pours a hazed amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Bananas, yeast and wheat in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of ripe fruit, yeast and sweet malt. The finish is fruity with a spicy wheat and banana aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the Spring Forward tasting at Brewís Cafe on 3/9/13. Clear amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, candi sugar, banana and clove. Malt and honey sweet flavor with banana and apricot character and a bit of alcohol in the finish.

22 ounce bottle, Batch #4. Served in a goblet, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Both the head retention and lacing are good. Aroma is sweet, yeasty and fruity, the brew smells like honey, pears, candy sugar, floral/earthy hops, and a bit of peppery spice. The taste is similar to the aroma, but I also pick up some clove, bubblegum and some earthy/herbal flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit creamy and is also well carbonated. Itís a little boozy, but for the most part the alcohol is well hidden. I think itís a good brew, Iíd pick this one up again in the future. Always nice to have another good local brewery in the mix. $9.99 a bottle.
