500 ml bottle thanks hugely to ErlangerNick. Clear gold lasting thick white head. Its pretty good. Lovely easy drinking strong lager. No alcohol heat to speak of but good malts full in mouth and good bitter hopped finish. Really rather good. Drunk in hotel room in Salzburg.

Hopfiger, scharf bitterer Antrunk. Faszinierender Bock! 12/12/13/13/13

Autumn sun. I get some kilned malt on this. This beer has a crisp finish. Almost smoky at times. I expected something completely different.

Bottle @ Bamberg. Pours dark golden with a creamy white head and lacings. Very grainy. A bit of alcohol and caramel. Medium bodied.

It’s warm golden with a huge, creamy and lasting head, and the aroma has notes of malt, bread, flower and slightly spicy alcohol. The flavour is sweet with notes of malt, bread, flower/fruit and a hoppy, spicy alcohol-bite.

Slightly hazy orange-golden color, small white head. Aroma is neutral with grainy and barley notes. Flavor is straight-forward, standard, clean helles bock: malty base, grainy notes, some citrus/herbal hoppyness and alcohol. Not as sweet as many other German strong bocks. Lingering bitterness and alcohol in the aftertaste. Ok.

Bottle, bought @ the brewery. Pale golden color. Soft tropical fruit aroma. Grassy herbal hopbitter flavor. malty sweetness hidden by the quiet but omnipresent hoppiness. Earthy notes, especially in the finish. Good!

Draft at Café Abseits. Sweetish malt nose with a certain fruity note. Mild sweetness with a firm and lingering hop bitterness. Almost perfectly balanced and dangerously drinkable. Tasty, bittersweet bock that hardly puts a foot wrong.

(bottle) pours a clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of grassy herbal hops, watermelon and some light grainy pale malts, slightly sweet. flavour is mostly bready, grainy malts with notes of sweet spices, almost belgian in a way. medium-bodied with smooth carbonation and a dry, alcoholic finish. quite different to most examples of the style.

bottle. Clear golden colour, mid-sized head. Hoppy nose. Full-bodied, solid malty base with lots of resiny-citrusy hops. Bitter-sweet, reminds me of an American IPA.
