9/10/9/9/11/9

Bottle… February in Franconia (2011)… Clear light amber ale with a small, tight, white head. It’s hard for me to pull much from the nose, but finally I pick up subtle toasty and nutty notes. Medium-bodied with laid-back carbonation. The flavor actually leans a touch toward the bitter side of balance. Minerally, watery and bland, but very clean – even when well above proper lager drinking temperature. Short, crisp, clean finish. Not really much of a Marzen in my book, but a refreshing warm weather beer nonetheless. Thanks go out to erlangernick and Koelschtrinker for making this month of Franconian lagers possible!

Bottle. A clear, golden beer topped by a finger-thick white head. Grainy nose with a fruityness, quite weak. Sweet on the palate, full body. Fruityness and some fruity bitterness in the mouth. Sweet finish with a bitterness trying to balance it, but not making it. Definately not my idea of a Christmas beer. 100513

Bottle 500ml.
Clear medium orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, keller, metalic, damp stained, earthy, light soap. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light metalic. [20091219]

pivnizub (7239) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JAN 8, 2007
Bottle: Light amber coloured, lively carbonation, small off-white layer; sweet-malty, but mainly metallic aroma with the faintest traces of toasted malt; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; drier malty finish with a touch of vegetables and some hoppy rays in the aftertaste. Not the greastest pleasure, unfortunately typical for a Grasser brew..........
