(Draught) Pours black with a dark nougat coloured head. The aroma holds strawberries, liquorice and pine up front. Rounded roast and acidic pink grapefruit. Maybe a touch of floral perfume. The flavour is light sweet to dry, near medium bitter and tiny acidic with notes of citrus and dark chocolate. Hints of flowers, pine and asphalt. The mouthfeel is soft and fairly round with a smooth carbonation. Hoppy, yet not super bitter finish. Near medium bodied.

Stark bitterer Antrunk, in dem der Hopfen zu wenig hervorkommt. Immerhin bietet er eine leicht fruchtige Komponente, dazwischen durch die Bitterkeit immer mal wieder trocken. Zum Ende röstmalzig und sehr bitter. 11/10/10/10//10

Tap. Finger and a half of light tan head, deep dark nearly black hue. Some nice residual lacing. Mostly citrus hops coming through in the aroma with a hint of pine, solid maltiness. Very hop forward in the flavor and not as chocolatey as others, but still there. Medium body with soft carbonation. Nice.

Pours truly black. Still the aroma and taste are all IPA but with a hint of roasted malts. The roasted malt give a certain body, but it’s the passionfruity hops that is dominating. Compare to other black IPA’s, I would say that this is more traditional IPA than some others where the malt is more present.

Draft @ Ørsted Ølbar, Copenhagen. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty hoppy aroma. Sweetish roasted malty hoppy bitter flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish with a bitter hoppy aftertaste.

5th March 2010. Pre ZBF. Opaque black beer. Fresh hoppy nose. Fresh hops. Dark beer but bags of fresh hops that are spicy and particularly grassy. Reminded me a lot of Beer Here ’Dark Hops’ but this one is even more hop fresh!

On-tap. Ölrepubliken, Göteborg. Black color with a beige head. Hoppy citric IPA aroma with a hint of roasted malt. Flavor of bitter hops, grape, grass, coffee. Roasted, bitter and a bit harsh finish. I like my IPA´s fruity with balanced bitterness and my stouts without a lot of flavor/aroma hops, so this is not a beer for me.

Bottle @ pre-ZBF 2010. Dark, short off-white head. Aroma of some malt, bit hop, grapefruit. Quite bitter.

@ Pre ZBF. The aroma has grapefruits, roast, some coffee. Black coloured beer with an off-white, thin head. The taste has decent bitterness, grapefruity hops, some roasted malts. Medium bodied, nice one.
