Type: 8-oz. draft Glass: Clear tulip glass From: Alpine Beer Company Pub in Alpine, Calif. Price: $8.00 Purchased: June 9, 2016 Consumed: June 9, 2016 Misc.: N/A Stopped in to pick up a gift certificate and saw Hill Farmstead on the board. Insta-purchased. After looking up some more information, I don’t think it’s actually Hill Farmstead, but Grassroots (which may just be a part of Hill Farmstead). Either way I was looking forward to trying it without even looking what the group thinkers on Beer Advocate and Untappd were saying. Poured a golden orange clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of off-white, fizzy head. Some bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Very good spotty lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 4.00) Smelled spicy up front, then got orange blossom, blood orange, hibiscus, floral aromas, lime zest, pear, citrusy notes, grassy notes and light green apple. (Smell - 4.25) Tasted even better than the nose, getting lime zest, citrus, blood orange, grass, herbal, pear, kiwi, hibiscus and hints of cinnamon spice. (Taste - 4.50) Light body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.50) This one just grew on me. Really liked it, but I feel like I overrated it just a tad. (Overall - 4.25) 4.36 97 A

Thanks king hippo! Pours a hazy light orangish/yellowish color, with a fluffy white head. Beautiful looking beer in the glass. Aroma of lime, lemon zest, citrus, hay, grain and funk. Taste is a mouth puckering lemon and lime flavor, orange citrus, grapefruit, with some light grainy malts, funky tartness, and slight bitterness. Medium to light mouthful. Easily drinkable on a nice spring day. World class! Yes ma’am, may I please have another.

Fat CBC-16. En riktig bra saison sauvage med mycket funk, frisk och syrlig med citrus, vete, jäst, lite blommig. Som jag önskar att varje saison skall smaka. Riktigt gott.

Bottle: Thanks MacBoost: Served in a Chouffe glass: White head. Hazy bright yellow body. Fine and crispy brett aroma with some floral and flower tones, some manure, subtle fruit ish tones and some wood. Flavour is also quite crispy and light: brett, funk, lemon, light bitter, light tart, light wood... Aftertaste is funky, bitter, light tart, brett and lemon. Low carbo, light creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied. Saison? Serious? Wild Ale! Yes it is!
