(Draught at Bishops Arms SoFo) The beer poured pitch black with medium sized and light brown head. Aroma had quite a lot of hops and also nearly burnt malts and ash. Palate was medium bodied with quite high carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, hops, mildly liquorice and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. I had mixed feeling about this. Mostly I found this beer very likeable but also something in there was really off-putting.

(Draught) Pours black with a beige/pale brown head. The aroma holds rye, roast and hops up front. Undertones of burned dark bread, smoked meat, mild grass and light tart/asphalt. Dry and grainy on the nose. The flavour is light sweet, slightly over medium bitter and light acidic. Notes of dark bread, crisp bread, burned grain, grapefruit, resin, dried meat and coffee beans. The mouthfeel is clean with medium carbonation. Burned, sourish and bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Det här var en ytterst trevlig porter med relativt lite kaffe och relativt mycket humle i smaken. Men maltigheten är välbalanserad gentemot humlen och kombinationen blir väldigt lyckad. Slutsats: god, väldigt god.

Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma has notes of malt, chocolate and coffee. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap. Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is rye, vanilla, coffee, caramel, chocolate and some hops behind. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, liquorice, decent amount of hops and some rye. Dry mouthfeel.

From tap. Poured black with a persistent head. Smoky and roasty. Roasted malts, smoke, and hops, complimented by some chocolate. Rye, as made obvious by the name.

Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some smoke and dark berries. Flavour of roasted malts, chocolate, dark berries, coffee, smoke and bitter hops. Medium bodied, slick and a bit thin mouthfeel. Loads of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate on the finish. Extremely well balanced.

@ ACBF 2011. The aroma has rye, coffee and a bit grass. Black coloured beer with a firm, beige head. The taste is a bit salty, has coffee and rye, some hoppiness. Medium bodied. Nice.

Aroma is smoked with roasted malt, liquorice, earth and molasses. Flavour is earth, roasted malt liquorice and smoke. Very nice.

Had this one at the ACBF 2011. Black colored brew. Salty, mocca and dark chocolate. Some hops and rye.

Tap @ Mikkeller. Dark brown body with a medium offwhite head. Aroma and flavor is roasted malt, hops, light coffee, ryebread and sourdough.
