3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 chriso (7065) - London, - FEB 21, 2011
Unmarked bottle @ Christmas tasting on 28 December 2010. Didn’t have a name at the time. Thanks to Ryan for providing and to Jan & Charlotte for bringing it over. Very dark - almost black, tinged with red. Roasty and fairly dry. Soft coffee and cocoa powder in equal measure. Quite rich and deep mouthfeel but very drinkable too. Hit the spot nicely.

Draught @ Gastropub Nordic. Rated on 13.04.2011
Aroma is rather roasted with coffee, some chocolate and hints of peat. Flavour is very roasted too. It has coffee, chocolate, some peat and hints if licorice. Feels a bit too dry though and has harsh bitterness in the aftertaste. Good stuff still.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Defreni (1935) - Husum, DENMARK - JAN 27, 2012
Meget let ristet.

Keg at Craft. Black with small beige head. Aroma is very much coffee, dark malts, oaty and boozy. Taste a a touch bitter and has a little bit of coffee liqueur about it with milky/creamy coffee elements too. Has a nice liveliness in the mouth, and a lovely bitter finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fungrim (52) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 21, 2011
Draught @ BQ, Milano. Somewhat surprising to find in Milano, served from hand-pump no less. Pitch black with a small brown-ish head, leaving a very nice lacing. The nose has a lot of roasted malts, some licorice, but not very much hops. Slick mouth-feel (hello oats) with small carbonation. Taste has some coffee, some background chocolate, a some light sweetness. Nicely balanced if rather dry. There’s also an almost sour tinge I couldn’t really pin down. But all in all, and nice one.

A Sim rate (on keg at the Craft): Smokey, roasty aroma with a bit of licquorice and coffee. Tastes similar with an aftertaste that keeps going for ages. Bitter chocolate, malt & roasted coffee. Really lovely and a perfect first Friday night beer!

Draft @ Delirium Hoppy Room.
Couleur brune claire, mousse beige.
