4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 JohnC (3000) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - AUG 29, 2011
Thanks to Henrik for sending the bottle, and to U.S. Customs & Postal for not breaking it.
This opaque gold pour is a nicely balanced double IPA. The hop characteristic is good, but thankfully, it’s not a hop bomb. Well crafted and tasty, this would be a nice one to have again.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2011
2011-07-13, draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen, 8-3-8-5-17=41 Cloudy straw-yellow color; medium sized head. The aroma of Sorachi Ace is very strong, it comes with plenty of citrus fruits (bergamot, cedar...), tropical fruits, perfumy soap, cream. The body is lean, the mouthfeel quite dry; good understated dry malt flavor, some sweetness comes through later; strong hopping with a very nice lemony character and notes of cedar; long final. It actually hides very well, the high gravity. Very good refreshing brew.
2011-04-09, bottle, courtesy of Papsø, 8-3-8-5-17=41 Cloudy deep blond color. The hop aroma is strong; it’s fresh, citrus fruits, bergamot, peach, passion fruit. Good body structure, and luckily the sweetness is very moderate; malt and toffee flavor; the hop is very resiny, piney, with a strong bergamot character. Very good for the lean profile and the freshness.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2011
Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. July 2011.
Hazy yellow, small head. Dill and herb notes in the aroma on a fruity background. Taste is also packed with dill flavour together with some citrus and bubblegum. The texture is creamy with sweet punch. Not bad, it’s actually quite interesting. Defiantly Soraci Ace on speed. Would probably go good with fish.

It’s very slightly hazy yellow-golden with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of spruce, exotic fruits, peal of grapefruit, peach and oranges. The sweet flavour has notes of exotic fruits, spruce, peal of grapefruit and other kinds of citrus, peach, and the finish is dry with a light bitterness.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jaghana (2828) - Strasbourg (France), FRANCE - AUG 6, 2011
Bottle 33cl from Papsoe itself, a cloudy yellow-orange beer. Nose is very hopy and agrume like. Aroma is fruity on lemon and grapefruit side, quite sweet, properly malted, slightly resinous, long bitter and lemony aftertaste. Not bad at all, just a bit too lemony.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 heavy (1956) - Split, CROATIA - AUG 5, 2011
08/05 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko, who got it from Papsoe himself, great thanks to both of them! It poured hazy golden body with small head. Orange hop aroma with vanilla malt base. Fine bitterish flavor, citrus and herbal hops with weaker, mosly pale malt like vanilla and biscuit. Tasty, medium bodied, while alcohol is really well hidden. Nice bitterish citrus finish. Pretty good thing for hopheads, interesting experience.
