COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: The whole concept of Papsø and dogs has always been a controversial one - shrouded in mystery. In his many, many years in television news Papsø ran hundreds of stories about dogs. But since many of those stories contained sadness, pain and agony – even dogs being put down – many came to believe that Papsø was a dog hater. As the name of this beer proves, nothing could be further from the truth. This beer is all about the love of puppies as experienced one wonderful summer camping in the Grassroots gardens – those puppies being the offspring of the famous and beautiful brewery dog Hamburglar. Share the joy of beer and pups!

Draft at the release celebrating 19,806 rating ;-) but now you are a genuine 20k-club member - welcome and congratulations. A hazy golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of hops, citrus fruits, and lemons. The flavor is sweet with notes of lemons, spices, and alcohol, leading to a very bitter finish. Must admit that I’m not a big fan of Sorachi Ace.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2011 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a rich and lacing off-white head. The nose is a fruitbowl of tropical esters, mango, honeydew and passionfruit - and strangely also coconut as I always get in Sorachi Ace. The body is surprisingly light if not exactly thin, but you certainly don’t feel the 10.2% - actually it’s almost sessionable! Very fruity, a little fruity sweetness, again these tropical notes with an amazing and almost leathery and astringent bitterness towards the finish. Oranges indeed, gives me a Fanta burp! A beer to usher in the coming of spring and summer...

The thank yous: To Ryan for creating this beautiful beer, to Shaun for making this happen, To Mahalia for being Mahalia and cooking Korean barbecue, to Ungstrup for helping out, to whoever that created Sorachi Ace, to Garret for introducing me to Sorachi Ace, to Signe for inspiration and last but not least to Hamburglar for loving licks and being the wonderful wee dog you are. 070411

2011-07-13, draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen, 8-3-8-5-17=41
Cloudy straw-yellow color; medium sized head. The aroma of Sorachi Ace is very strong, it comes with plenty of citrus fruits (bergamot, cedar...), tropical fruits, perfumy soap, cream. The body is lean, the mouthfeel quite dry; good understated dry malt flavor, some sweetness comes through later; strong hopping with a very nice lemony character and notes of cedar; long final. It actually hides very well, the high gravity.
Very good refreshing brew.

Cloudy deep blond color. The hop aroma is strong; it’s fresh, citrus fruits, bergamot, peach, passion fruit. Good body structure, and luckily the sweetness is very moderate; malt and toffee flavor; the hop is very resiny, piney, with a strong bergamot character.
Very good for the lean profile and the freshness.
