Received as an extra from a trading partner on BA. Thanks a bunch Phil! Pours a cloudy light brown/nickel in color with a finger and a halfs worth of off-white head. Some light, gentle lacing as I drink. Nose is typical saison yeast, dry, grassy, and some very light tartness. I like the flavor a lot more than the nose. The flavor starts of light and airy, nice tartness, and then moves to some light malt typical in an amber. Light mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, light tartness, and a moderate finish. Nice saison, can definitely tell the hill farmstead influence here.

[5281-20130427] 750mL bottle. Light apple fruit toasted grains aroma. Clear, bright amber orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Sour grassy malt flavour. Medium body is fairly sour at first. Tasty. (7/3/7/4/14) 3.5

A tasty drinkable blend of fresh smelling funk, some brett and moderate sourness, hops. Carbonation still right there. Big lace. Closer to a Berliner Weiss than a saison.

Bottle from Lukaduke. Thanks! Dusty hay; nice barnyard funky aroma, with muscat grapes, peach, and straw. The pour is an amber, almost brown color with a smallish head. Prickly and light in the mouth, perhaps even watery. The flavor showcases grapes, tart citrus rind, funky straw, and a leather-like character in the finish. Refreshing but this leaves me wanting a little more. For Hill Farmstead, this is just decent. Of course, that makes it a good beer on most other scales.

Bottle from Tooch4321...thanks Adam! Pours amber with a thin off white head. Nose is funky and tart, lightly fruity and a bit of plastic and leather in a good way. Taste is SweetTarts, funky citrus rind, and a lightly puckering tartness. Light carbonation with a gentle medium body. Lovely.

Bottle, thanks Kan. Pours amber with big foamy white head. Huge Brett aroma, funky, barnyard, musty. Flavors are just about all Brett dominated, some earthy and toasty malt notes but this is clearly a Brett beer, not a lot of complexity to it but it’s very dry. Watery feel. Brett’s just chewing through everything here. Still not getting the point of amber or dark saisons.

Bottled one time. Not a very inviting beer. Ruddy, gnarly dirty clay look with a thick quilt of loose light tan foam. Smells like co2, soil, grass and a hint of metal. Maybe some manure. Flavor is light a really tasty lacto innoculated saison with some hints of grain and apple. The beer is crispy and light with an enigmatic staying power to the finish. I’m surprised and delighted by this one. Serving type: bottle 10-07-2012

Hazy amber golden colour, white head. Quite funky aroma, saison yeast, brett, light citrus, light paint, hint of hay. Light sour flavour, citrus, leather, light wheat and horse blanket. Finish leather, citrus and funk. Nice, a bit funky for a saison, but nice nonetheless.
(from 75cL bottle shared @ ZZT VIIIb, Oirschot 2013. From trade with mathieuc, thanks!!)
