3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle... Murky amber pour with a large, frothy, white head that never fully dissolves. The bouquet is bursting-at-the-seams with fresh, juicy peaches and pears. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. The flavor is quite tart, but has some spicy farmhouse yeast characteristics that I can’t entirely sink my teeth into. Finishes tart, raspy and bone dry. The firm acidity saves this one for me. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!

November 22, 2015. Bottle at home, bottled august 2012. Received in a trade with Leighton, thanks!
Hazy amber with a large fizzy white head. Aroma is funky with a toffee overnote, hay, earthy woody and herbal notes, grape and apple skins, lemon juice, some minerals as well.
Taste is very light sweet biscuity, sour lemon character and some dry wood and grape skins. Finish sour with lemon juice, grape skins, dry earthy herbal notes, biscuity toffee notes, minerals and funky barnyard. Light to medium bodied, average carbonation.
Great funky saison with a nice sweet toffee touch, has developed well.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 mL bottle. Reviewed from notes. Big head. Great retention. Chunky surface foam. Mostly clear amber body. Bretty aroma. Lemony acidity. Earthy notes from the brett. Bready malts in the nose, be even more prominent in the taste. Some tang from the brett. Lemony. Grainy malt and a little caramel. Well carbonated. Easy drinking. Medium light body.
Good saison characteristics, but nothing extraordinary. The light tanginess keeps it interesting.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, from SlovakSniper (thanks Pat!). Reddish orange, very lively off white head. Tart, but with a light honey sweetness, unripened stonefruits, light citrus. Light lactic acidity. A tart saison, but one that I really enjoyed.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 750ml bottle, thanks to brokensail. There is a musty funk, lemon, apple, malty, a soft acetic note. This is a tasty beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Almost flat, very low carb. Pours a murky Amber with zero head. Aroma of foggy wet dough. Lightly tart. A touch of funk. Thin mouthfeel. Low carb kills this beer. Meh.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle, beautifully aged by oteyj. Not sure of the vintage, but definitely had 1+ years on it. Poured a gorgeous light walnut color, frothy off-white head. Nose and flavor held beautiful chestnut, fig, wheat, sourdough, pinot noir, and lightly funky oak character. Ultra dry. As reminiscent as the good bottles of Fantome as I’ve ever come across from an American brewery. Singular and delicious.

750mL bottle, unsure of date, shared by Bill on 7/25/15.
First medium-malts saison I’ve had in a while....Amber, good clarity with an off-white head that is well-retained.
Cherryskin, soft vanilla, light lactic touches and a warm baked sourdough breadiness are moderately well-integrated. Bits of appke-like esters with some light bitter grassiness and floral notes on the end. No alcohol or flaws. Very pleasant.
Flavor is wonderfully expressive of the darker malts....I keep sipping seeing if I find any out-of-balance caramel, sourdough or heavy sweetness, but no. The malts provide a good graininess, crusty, dry brown bread and then leave the yeasts alone to add cherry and apple fruits, vanilla and very soft funk. Earthy, lightly chewy and wonderfully carbonated and attenuated as youd expect. Nothing flashy, but very well-constructed. Those are my favorite types of beers.
