3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BenH (1334) - Edinburgh, - MAR 16, 2012From bottle. Pours black with a lively rocky brown head. Aroma has Brett up front, light pineapple, hint of coffee and licorice in the background. Taste is more malty up front, chocolate and licorice then Brett comes through with a slighty tart finish. Kind of all over the place but interesting and tasty
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 maneliquor (1552) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 6, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours black with a thick, huge & billowing, dark tan head. Very carbonated. Nose shows light hay and that typical saison yeast note - almost champagne like. Light funk comes through as well as cocoa powder and cacao nibs. Some citric hops in there too. Taste is superbly balanced compared to what I was expecting. Loads of layers which all work well. The yeast is showcased sensationally and slowly turns into roasted malts and milk chocolate. Light sweetness with heavy and lengthy bitterness shines. Light funk throughout - works very well but it is very subtle. Fantastic beer

Bottle from Vinbudin, Iceland (15/6-12). Pours with a crazy big and fluffy mokah-foam. Aroma of smoke, oak and sour cherry. Taste is sour, with roasted malts, coffee and milkchocolate. The chocolate-aspect lasts forever. Really good, especially after a few years (1,5) on the shelf.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Abio (1334) - Waasland, BELGIUM - JUL 13, 2012
Pitch black in my glass, the head is very big, brown, really foamy and sticks and holds very good. Just to big. Smell of yeast (brett, not my favorite), roasted malts, and more fruity then expected, mostly banana. The taste is better then expected. Specially after smelling the brett-yeast inside. A good amount of hops, combined with a nice roasted coffee, with a good bitter-sweetness and a very well hidden sour and brett-touch together with a decent amount of hops. Can’t say I’m getting wild of this beer, but the taste is pretty good combined, and the brett is not in front to much for me. Good looks, less smell, decent taste.
