Bottle. Black with medium brown foam. Roasted earthy bread aromas. Fresh hoppy dry-bitter taste with a light-sour finish. The brettanomyces gives it some saddle leather flavours. Good strong brew.

Half pint, keg at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico. A few tan coloured patches on top of a deep, very dark body. Inviting aroma of bitter dark malts mingled with dark fruits. Flavour is a made up of mild tart fruits, coffee and a drop of liquorice. Bitter fruity hops to a long-lived ending. Medium to full bodied. Fits its name. Very pleasing (London, 29.07.2011).

Poured provided by Maltzilla. Dark color with very little head to speak of. Aroma had hints of coffee, chocolate, malts and vanilla cream. The flavor that caught my attention that most was the vanilla. Somewhat creamy and very smooth.

On tap at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. Black with a big, creamy, light brown head. Caramel and tart fruit aroma. Complex roasted coffee flavours, blending with tart fruit and chocolate caramel. Complex and lush. Could become a classic.

bottle courtesy Mikkel of Mikkeller, thank you! very good and interesting brew.drinks like a very good black ipa or a nice hoppy impy stout. beautiful pour of a motor oil black body and abundant brown head. its an interesting brew. tons of roastyness, yet tns fo pineapple and sweet hops as well. very good stuff, surprised this isnt ranked higher, should be a black ipa really. its impressive that the fruity and floral hops overpower the roasty malt body.

500 ml bottle. From bierkompass.de.
Black colour with huge brown fluffy mushroom head. It takes a while the beer to settle. Roasted malt, intriguing dry hops, salty liquorice and some bun sweetness in amazing aroma. Aroma is near perfection. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, ash, bitter hops, mild coffee, alcohol and some dark fruitiness. Takes a while to absorb all the features of this brew. Complex and rewarding one. Wouldn’t describe this as highly drinkable. The label is not that flattering.

Bottle from Vinbudin, Iceland (15/6-12). Pours with a crazy big and fluffy mokah-foam. Aroma of smoke, oak and sour cherry. Taste is sour, with roasted malts, coffee and milkchocolate. The chocolate-aspect lasts forever. Really good, especially after a few years (1,5) on the shelf.
