Bottle from Domus Birrae, Roma; best present I ever had. Full marks. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, hints of smoke and liquorice. Taste is sweet and bitter, with very long length. Palate is syrupy, full bodied. Black, with a frothy head.

Bottle from Fonefan thanks very much. A dark beer with medium head, nose is nice on dark malty, alcohol oak notes and prune. Aroma is on dark chocolate, prune, vanilla, oak, caramel, syrupy a complex and creamy body, light soy sauce touch, very interesting fruit notes, long and complex aftertaste. Exactly the imperial as I like them.

Bottle. It pours an oily, dark brown body and a small, tan head. Quite a lot of vanilla on the nose, with dark chocolate, roasted malts and bourbon. A bit one dimensional maybe, but really pleasant, even though I don’t care too much about of JD. There’s some sweetness in the flavor, but it feels quite dry on the palate. Lightly warming, full-bodied and soft on the carbonation. Coffee, dark chocolate and some vanilla in the flavor, finishing with a pleasant hoppy bitterness in addition to the roasted flavors found initially. Pleasant indeed. Starts a bit boring, but after a sip or two I really enjoy it. 120915

Bottle @ Rene’s house, picked up at Fano. Nice whiskey, rich toffee, rich chocolate/cocoa, delicious vanilla aroma. Rich dark chocolate, big toffee, fairly sweet caramel, mild whiskey, a bit woody flavor. Super smooth and delicious.
