Draft at Makke. Dark brown, almost black, brown head. Aroma of dark cocoa and dark roast coffee. Taste is like extra thick chocolate syrup. Almost chewy. Surprised that this is 10%.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà in Rome. The pour is a near ink black with a towering, gigantic, sheen, deep mocha head. Excellent retention and lace. Aroma is vinegar, light olive, roast, coffee, raspberry dark chocolate, berries, massive walnuts. Taste is soft, dry, herbal hoppy, espresso, dry cured olives, then an onslaught of massive hop bitterness. Palate is nutty bitter, dry, tannic, slate. Enormous hoppiness almost puts this in the Black IPA category.

Una birra inizialmente molto ben fatta ed equilibrata, caffè non eccessivo, dolce e amaro nelle giuste dosi, nel finale riesce a sorprendere sfoderando tutta la sua classe.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ Fanø Bryghus.
Pours completely black with a lovely, small, creamy, beige film head. Aroma is sweet, roasted, dark chocolate, fairly hoppy, raisins and piney hops. Medium carbonation, lovely dry and soft, velvety creamy palate. Flavour has lots of liqourice, light smoke, roasted, black malts that are almost burnt. Very hoppy with a bit of a sharpness to it. Some sweet raisins in the finish.

Bottle at ACBF. Opaque black beer with a good creamy tan head. Mild milky malt nose. Softish palate. Rich dark malt, smooth and creamy. Some coffee and hop bitterness bloom and then finish with a brief burst of fruit. Bitter aftertaste - good stuff.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at ACBF 2011. Diacetyl. This screams butter. Dark choc flavour. Reminds me of a Crunchie bar. Dry choc. Shame avout the diacetyl but I quite like Crunchies so I did not mind this so much

@ACBF 2011. Nice imperial stout - the flavors are seemingly mild and well balanced!
