Bottle, bought @ Voldby Købmandsgaard.
Deep red chestnut, no real head as it pours. After pour the head is all gone. Lovely raisin fat aroma, caramel, light toasted, oak, sherry, port. Vinious of course, but not overly so. Very low carbonation, fat and very oily palate with some mild dryness. Flavour starts very sugary sweet, lots of fat caramel, softly warming and vinious, light cherries, some port. Quite a good finish with plums and oak dryness. Just too sweet in the front, otherwise a very nice attempt at a high ABV, oak-aged BW.

Old strong ale aroma, plenty of vanilla, nice. Looks good too, very rich colour. Massively sugary, but also quite lush. A great sesert sipper. Gentle woodiness, and a nice bitterness too. Alcohol quite well hidden. Fairly solid strong barleywine.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an almost opaque nutty brown with a tiny off-white film of a head. Very sweet herbal - tobaccoish? - and caramellish aroma with quite some alcohol. Full and rich body, low carbonation, very sweet notes of overripe fruit - noble rot even - and nuts. Warming alcohol finish. Delicious even if a little hard to drink due to the high sweetness. But a pleasant sipper. 020911
