COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Dark orange coloured and unclear. Has sediment. White head, mostly lasting. Aroma is hoppy, grass, yeast and acid. Flavor is light sweet starting, then some acid, and a moderate bitter finish. Creamy, dry texture and lively carbonation.

Poured from a 500ml bottle. Pours a bright pale golden colour - looks like a pilsner more so than a saison! Head dies down to a thin lace. Faint aromas of grass, green apples, some malt, and sugar. Taste pretty much follows on from the aromas, but with a weird sweet green apple lingering flavour; think of apple candy. Some lat sweetness comes throught, and that’s it. Finish is short and sweet. Not a great saison or even farmhouse style ale.

Bottle from barley wine. One month overdue it’s date. Golden, slightly hazy with small white head. Yeast, white bread and sweet apples on the nose. Oranges, herbs and grassy hops in the mouth. Slightly oily. More like a bier de garde than Saison in my book.
