3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 humlelala (691) - DENMARK - APR 26, 2013
(50 cl bottle from Barley Wine; BBD: July 3rd 2013) I wanted to try this as I enjoyed the Baltic Frontier and saw that this had good reviews. pours black with little, tan head. Aroma is wheaty, herbal-spicy with notes of anis. Oily texture, soft carbonation, medium body with a slighly bitter, herbal and roasted finish. The herbal bitterness of the juniper complements the roastedness well but it seemed to be put to better use in the baltic frontier.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 esp0r (1259) - NORWAY - APR 8, 2012
Bottle shared with my brother
Quite dark, thin offwhite head. Smells of roasted malts, juniper berries and some yeast. Quite fruity taste, nice sweetness, quite watery and not very malty, some coffee too. Some bitter finish of malts, not much hops. Medium bodied. Quite dominated bye the juniper berries, both for good and for bad. Still i think it still keeps its stout origin as a style
